Re: VPN discussion: Are they necessary?

Lots of good info here. Thanks, guys.

I may get a VPN in the future for trial and testing purposes only, because I'm totally not one of those guys that downloads anything illegal.

VPN discussion: Are they necessary?

I've seen a lot of YouTube videos of people promoting the use of VPN services. It seems to be their go-to sponsor for all video uploads these days. I'd like to get unbiased opinions by people that are not being paid. Recently, I saw a few of the members advertise their IPs here , and it got me think...

Re: WTF?? Blocked by Content Security Policy

No one here would see it here since the Content Security Policy rule dictates to everyone what is and is not allowed to be used on your site, regardless of browser or who visits.

Re: WTF?? Blocked by Content Security Policy

Either you or your host added a new header to your Apache, Nginx (or whatever else you may be using) configuration file called Content-Security-Policy. It will blacklist everything unless it is specifically whitelisted in the Content-Security-Policy list. This has nothing to do with phpBB. If you di...

Re: [Split] Updating to php 7.2, sql error mysqli no such file or directory

I don't know if this will help. These are ALL of the changes I've made in my php.ini file using the php 7.2 production copy of the configuration file, and my phpBB 3.2.5 forums work just fine with it. Here are the notes I made for myself for reference. I hope it helps you. --------------------------...

MySQL privileges for phpBB

I found an old topic of this subject here . I would like to know if if anything has changed since then. If so, what has been added or updated? *Edit* I found my answer here: https://wiki.phpbb.com/Practical.Running_phpBB3_on_localhost SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, CREATE, DROP, REFERENCES, INDEX, ...

Allow "Auto-Locking" of Topics

<t>Topics get old. Wrong link given there, Marc. It should be viewforum.php?f=556

Thanks for the update, everyone. It went smooth as always.

Hello Hanakin, I hope you didn't take my comments out of place. A new default theme written from scratch is long overdue, and I'm really looking forward to your upcoming release. I also trust that whatever components you decide to include (or not include) will be for the best of the community and th...

Re: [DEV] [OFFICIAL] CODENAME: Chameleon

Great start there, Hanakin. Having been a user of phpBB for 16 years now, I'll give some thought and feedback. I'll start with the constructive criticism first. A lot of it may be stating the obvious, but I'll point it out anyways. It's very white and hard on the eyes. Some pascal colours would be n...

Re: How old is your phpBB board?

The first forums I used are long gone. I joined a gaming clan back in March 18, 2003 that used phpBB 2. I was so active on it that they eventually gave me admin.
