Re: Merging two phpBB3.2 forums

Hey thanks for posting this! I'm going to give it a try when I get a chance. Any caveats about phpBB versions? Just update the keymap file?

Re: Merge two phpbb3 forums

Here is the script I was working on to try to automatically do the migration. keymap.php is my way of trying to keep track of which items need to be updated across the database (my replacement for foreign keys). It's been a while since I looked at it. It shouldn't touch the two original forums, but ...

Re: Merge two phpbb3 forums

Well the problem is with id collisions right? What I was doing was trying to automatically increase one forum by X on IDs based on the last ID of the previous forum.

If you want I can send you the code I had when I was trying to do it. I forget, can I attach that here?

Re: Merge two phpbb3 forums

I had no success. Frankly the phpBB database is just too complex and without foreign key enforcement in the database it's a super hard task for any forums of significant size.

Re: [CONVERTOR]myBB 1.4.x to phpBB 3.0.5

the script has had nearly 5.5 hours of CPU time now. I guess it's stuck in an endless loop or something.

Thanks, will do. I'm currently getting the 500 error page, but I notice the PHP script is still running so I'm just going to let it run. It's gotten over 40 minutes of CPU time so far.

Re: [CONVERTOR]myBB 1.4.x to phpBB 3.0.5

Ok so I just ran the converter on my local machine and I got this in the error log: [Sun Nov 25 03:02:24 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Script timed out before returning headers: index.php, referer: http://localhost/angelo/merge/phpBB3/install/index.php?mode=convert&sub=in_progress&tag=myb...

Re: [CONVERTOR]myBB 1.4.x to phpBB 3.0.5

Did you also try this ? Yes, I have that in the PHP code, and I also put in all of those directives (except the first one) in a php.ini file according to the instructions from my hosting provider on how to modify php settings. I think I know what is happening: after about 10 minutes I think my host...

Re: [CONVERTOR]myBB 1.4.x to phpBB 3.0.5

I'm running into the same problems as others with the converter just taking forever at the "continue conversion" stage. No errors or anything--just hangs. After reading through the thread the only "fix" seems to be to use the latest zip (002b) but it hasn't fixed it for me. Is th...

Where did you get the 1.6.8 converter? I'm trying to do this but I'm not on 3.0.10 yet.

Re: Merge two phpbb3 forums

Scripting / programming something requires an understanding of what is coded. Maybe you should first go through the merge process manually and then scipt it. Yes, after my script did not work, I decided I probably would try yours and maybe start over with a script if needed. Anyway, I will post wha...

Re: Merge two phpbb3 forums

I'm looking into your method here because I tried making a script to merge 2 boards, and it seems to fail. I tried merging one board with itself, and I expected to find double the posts, etc. but I found instead the boards were exactly the same. Actually, if I look at the database there are an incre...

Re: [RC] Post text in Topic Reply Notification

Hi, this MOD obviously needs some serious work and reconsideration. Due to personal issues, I have been unable to continue work on this MOD, and I'd like for someone who is interested to take over development. I can give them pointers on how the MOD is supposed to work, and honestly it should partic...
