Too many posts in one thread?

Question i have one thread which is commonly used by lots of users at the same time it has 30k posts in it.

Would this cause the forum to be realllly slow?? I reckon it might but just need someone to clarify it for me

what i found out today if u upload the sql file via ftp to your server and then contact ur hosting company they might be able to do it all for u

User_active field in database

Just a quick one,

the user table has a field called user_active can someone please explain what does the value 127 mean when its in that field?

I assume 0 = non active and 1 = active

Just curious as i have over 100 users with this status

The message simply means that the forum cannot connect to the database Steps to resolve this 1. Check the settings in the config.php file found in the forum root 2. Check with your database that its up and working (might have to contact your hosting company to do so) Chance are one of the two above ...

The biggest point is MySQL is free!!

Oracle is a database system like MySQL so i dont see why phpBB wouldnt work on it

Rank images are built so that they need to be in the phpBB root folder on the server somewhere

It wont work unless u modify the underlying code for it

do as kevin suggests and if that doesnt work log into phpMyadmin and change the user_level for that user from 2 to 0

There is a mod available to do so but it doesnt come with phpBB as standard

just search for the attachment mod (its also available from the phpBB mods downloads section)

Easy to install and very good

go into your profile and turn it off :D

Go to advanced search
