Re: Shoutbox Ext

moviehive wrote:I coded up a fairly simple extension of a shoutbox for my forum. When I get time I will work on making it a bit more advanced with ACP settings and provide it to the public.
Cool, that would be appreciated.

Re: Add a Like Button to Each Post

So we can say that likes can be a part of any discussions. Why do you neglect them? Just personal opinion. I see a lot of people on here who want facebook login, facebook likes, facebook chat and I just think....so why not set your board up on facebook instead. I'd rather have 50 pages of comments ...

Nice work Webby...I've been wanting this mod for phpBB3 for ages. Cheers!!

P.S. I've not forgotten about that work for you....it's just that Transformers 2 has kept me busy for the last month. ;)

Re: Private Messages

I'm having this issue too! I've purged the cache...flicked through all the messages (just in case)...then deleted everything. Still shows up as '2 New Messages'. I'll dive into the database and set it straight....but it's odd that it's '2 New Messages' for more than one of us. I'd be intrigued to kn...

Re: [Beta] AJAX Chat/Shoutbox Mod

I assume you wish to show more than 25 'shouts' in the shoutbox/chat?! To do this you need to edit both the chat.php and the shout.php files open the chat.php and FIND $result = $db->sql_query_limit($sql, 25); REPLACE WITH (assuming you wish to show 50 'shouts') $result = $db->sql_query_limit($sql, ...

Re: Being Redirected When Adding Code

Now that is strange indeed! It must be something to do with my hosts indeed! I just tried to do the same on a phpBB2 board and ran into the same problem! Thanks for the help so far....I think I'll go rattle my hosts cage and see what's up! I'll let you know!

Re: Being Redirected When Adding Code

Nope...it's not what's in the code that causes the issue...just that it's code! The same happens if I try to post any type of code on the forum itself too! If you want to see what happens then go to the forum and post this.... <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.yo...

Being Redirected When Adding Code

Okay here's the problem! I wanted to add some bbcode to enable the embedding of YouTube videos into posts. I popped into the ACP and added the details and hit submit. Next thing I knew I was out of my forum directory and back at the html 'root' (http://www.tequilatown.co.uk). I've changed the cookie...

There was no .htaccess file in the compressed package when I downloaded this mod. It's not really needed as far as I know. Don't give up on this mod...it really is worth the effort! ;)

Re: [Beta] phpBB3 Portal

There is a folder called 'root' in the files that you download all 'copy' statements are relative to that..all the 'to' statements are relative to the folder in which the forum is stored. Let us assume that your website is called http://www.mysite.com and that your forum is in a folder called 'forum...

Re: Conversion Process

Try double checking them (the permissions) once again. You never know..it certainly looks like there is some sort of access issue going on.
