Re: 2.0.22 to 3.0 rc7 on Godaddy

If you won't find a solution of do it on your hosting servier, then you can try this: You can install a server on your dektop http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html After you do it - install phpBB2, update your forum's databse to it to recreate it, install phpBB3, convert, save phpBB3 database, ...

Re: [Release] darkstar : A Dark Skin For Phpbb3

I have checked and although after running clear.php it said the cache was cleared - it wasn't. I deleted manually all files, except for .htaccess and index.htm and all works perfectly :)

I still cannot log in to ACP, while using this template.

I have removed and re-installed the template for RC7, and also cleared cache, but no change.

Also when trying to submit changes in Preferences in UCP I got

Code: Select all

The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.

Re: [request] replacement for allow_url_fopen

I just got a notification from my hosting service, that allow_url_fopen will be disabled. I read this thread and frankly I don't understand: first there's info that phpBB doesn't use allow_url_fopen, and then that I have to disable a function, bec I'll get an error. So does it use it, or not? If not...

How many websites do you go to where all links open in a new window? How annoying is that? ;-) Not many enough. Usually I do not wish to leave a page, while clicking a new external link. Hitting "back" is annoying, especially if I have problems with finding where I was and go on with my reading. It...

I was wondering does phpBB3 not count inactive members or something? I noticed they also don't show up as "newest member" on front page, until they are active, so I suppose that may be the reason. I have tested XAMPP too, and it worked fine :) Thanks for suggestion ChrisRLG! Even found a bug :twist...

Some people have reported a method using your own windows machine, so you would need to download the DB and use your own machine to do the conversion then upload the result. I take it as last resort, bec setting up a server on Linux (my OS) is real pain in the neck if you don't know what you're doi...

I have over 61000 posts.. and over 1300 members. I'm using phpbb_ for phpBB2 tables, and phpbb3_ for phpBB3 tables. phpbb_posts has - Rows 62,084 phpbb3_posts has - Rows 1,720 I have the same problems exactly. Each time I try to resume conversion it only changes _posts - the highest number it got w...

Mine is 60 mb, and the conversion failed :( (on the table prefix_posts) I'd say it might be time out of my server, but time out after 17 seconds? 8O And while there were no time outs while I was restoring a copy of my forum (yes, I did that ) I'll wait till RC1 and see if the problem will occur...

Impressed

I installed it to see how it works and how it looks and I'm really impressed!! Just needs a lot of learning on how to use the new and full of new options/new doing the same things ACP, but I like it! 3.0 is really something. I can't wait to install the final release and replace my ol' 2.0 with it :D...
