Re: [3.2.1] [BBCode] Furthermore problems with attachments

I'm so sorry.

My attempt to take time out to try and help was a massive mistake.

Shimata.

I will learn from this and endeavour not to duplicate.

Peace.

Re: [3.2.1] [BBCode] Furthermore problems with attachments

No, my error is my error regarding the float of text to the right, not the same error as yours, but you need to read the principle behind it. It's no good you posting the code I could have guessed what it looks like lol what you see in your post is not how it is stored in the database Did you remove...

Re: Just A Single Hopeful Question

Hosting is so cheap these days it's almost not worth bothering with the free hosting route. Then you can make it how you want and keep it that way. Can't shout that louder. We are talking less than the price of a pint of beer a month for unlimited space and bandwidth. How much does it really cost w...

Re: [3.2.1] [BBCode] Furthermore problems with attachments

Just noticed every opening post on my site is displaying incorrectly. So that's 9300 plus posts to edit minus the 1000 I did yesterday. Didn't notice it to start with but here's the difference: phpbb_post1.png phpbb_post2.png Again, Edit, - no changes, - submit, fixes it. but boy is it the most bori...

Re: [3.2.1] [BBCode] Furthermore problems with attachments

As can be seen above, this does not work - and that is the fault. Just because you can see that there is one thing not working doesn't mean that that is the fault. That was what my post above was explaining. Break the post down. Remove the [ size ] bbcode just to leave the text as is along with the...

Re: [3.2.1] [BBCode] Furthermore problems with attachments

I have had multiple problems with bbcode after upgrading. However, I have found that what doesn't display correctly is sometimes caused by another bbcode and not necessarily the one where there seems to be a problem. When the install procedure updated the database it did so for posts where there was...

Re: Questions on moving from hosted forum to own domain/phpBB forum.

They are also now under the tapatalk umbrella I understand. As you might have heard, Tapatalk has been taking over a few hosted forum places. (Yuku, Zetaboards, maybe someone else?) Is freeforums the last remaining possibility of someONE? A friend of mine on a freeforums board PM'd me two days ago ...

What security issue do you see?
I don't - it went out of the window lol

Security goes out the window because no hacker could have done as much damage / trouble as what the upgrade has caused.

Re: Questions on moving from hosted forum to own domain/phpBB forum.

Had a similar problem with freeforums a few years ago, but they would provide a DB back up ...............for a fee.

That first bit of the name "freeforums" was met with we are "free forums - not free database back-ups"

They are also now under the tapatalk umbrella I understand.

Re: URL tags are not working correctly.

I know it has nothing to do with the original question, but I challenged what you bought up, that's all. I had no additional extensions just the VigLink default. When using internal links the url link acts or can act if wanted in a different manner - or certainly could in 3.1.9 Using google.com is j...

Re: URL tags are not working correctly.

I guarantee it worked without http:// all my links were internal to phpbb posts So I could put: [url=viewtopic.php?p=5000]link[url] No http:// No www. And in 3.1.9 it worked without a problem because the link would automatically put my domain reference at the beginning without me including it in the...

Re: Initial topic post doesn't display, but replies do

Why do they do this? I believe that they had to change the rendering of bbCodes because the "old" system did not work with PHP7 Okay, so little choice on the one hand. But... Is it acceptable / good enough to say hey, your websites all messed up but it couldn't be helped? Could more have been done ...

In 3.1 if you had "www" at the front of the URL, it would put the http:// in there for you. But then that http:// would be stored in the post text.
So why doesn't the upgrading of the database when going through the installing process of an upgrade sort this out?

But the bbcode worked fine in 3.1.9, I didn't have this problem then, only since the upgrade to 3.2.0
bbCodes changed in 3.2 so it is a possibility that if you have a custom bbCode that it is not rendering correctly.
I'm convinced you're right.

Why do they do this? (Rhetorical)
