Re: How to completly uninstall phpBB3?

Because this is a prime example of how I struggle to see when reading text. I suffer with a sever dyslexia and on the ASD spectrum. Processing is very hard for me. I often edit every post I make after the fact. (sometimes takes up to 20 minutes) It's a compulsive thing, yet something I do to help ot...

Re: How to completly uninstall phpBB3?

Hi Mick, Not sure if it matters - but right now the host server is in maintenance mode. Probably irrelevant as I can still load up forum despite not being able to do any edits. "...you're using SSL?" My understanding of why I am using SSL: During my first install I had an issue with the view site i...

Re: How to completly uninstall phpBB3?

Thanks for the warning Kev. It said the version was 3.2.0 and I just checked in ACP and it verifys 3.2.0 None the less ... I will delete if it is indeed the case as you say. I will delete and create a new MySQL database in cpanel after I nuke the files once again. LOL. ______________________________...

Re: How to completly uninstall phpBB3?

All great points. I understand and regret letting my frustration get the better of me. There really is no better forum setup I like other than phpBB. (say so more as a user - not a designer but man I want to learn!) I promise to keep my cool and respect the need for clarity and format. I really appr...

Re: How to completly uninstall phpBB3?

During the installation it requests a server port. I know the database port ... the FTP port ... but get confused where it states during installation the average server port is 80 ... but it has 400 something in the box and says only change if different from your port. the 80 and the 400 are not eve...

Re: How to completly uninstall phpBB3?

That is because when you delete your phpBB files you are not deleting the database. If you are wanting to re-install your board then you can either delete the "old" database (recommended) and then re-create the database or simply create a new database to use each time you install phpBB are we talki...

Re: How to completly uninstall phpBB3?

I'm not sure why you keep reinstalling. You really don't need to. The installation is in two parts. The files and the database. They are in two completely different places. The reason you're seeing it tell you that a prefix is already being used is that you now have multiple installations of the ta...

Re: Value Changes Not Taking Effect?

TY - That sounds useful.

How do I recompile on the server end? ("... recompile your theme!")

I've heard it said a lot but not real reference as to how.

How to completly uninstall phpBB3?

I have already deleted the phpBB3 folder the host server through cPanel file management and then re uploaded to start all over again. Each time though the new install I have to choose a new prefix. I have gone from aaaa_ to bbbb_ and I guess this new install I will just have to use cccc_ Here's the ...

Re: How to Set Full Browser Width to Default?

Thanks ... I tried one last time. In fact I just did a fresh install and this is what my common.css files looks like: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4136/35341921210_c88b47ea64_o.jpg I copied the code over the top you linked as was extra careful to do all the purging, refreshing and emptying of cach...

CSS changes, not showing up ?Template&Board cache cleared.

I thought I had solved this but sadly no. I seemed to of got lucky once but have not been able to make any more adjustments through the common.css file in my themes folder. I am trying everything from purging in acp mode, refreshing my pages and clearing the browsers cache every time I make a single...
