Best is to make it so that for each "team" a usergroup is made. Usergroup gets private and invisable permission to teamforum and all the public fora but not to the other private and invisible team fora. This will be more overlookable by the users then 1000 forums and a faster index it is. Category G...

indeed,set up a group and give the group permission to view/post in the private forum.

You can make different groups if you want another grade of division within your old members and then add them as a group. Much Much easier
