Re: My CPU spiking up

I don't like Cloudflare besides Apache has a mod_geoip module and if this is installed/activated then you can use this; Three points. One points; Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies. We may use cookies and other information-gathering technologies for a variety of purposes, such as providing us ...

Re: My CPU spiking up

Its now geoIP2 but not bothered yet to install this new version. To react to myself... Don't need to be bothered to install new libs. Just convert new database format to the old one. Someone already is doing that; https://www.miyuru.lk/geoiplegacy (with a Python script; https://github.com/sherpya/g...

Re: My CPU spiking up

Ultimately, I think sticking your site behind Cloudflare is the best option to stop this as you can shut out bots or entire countries without impacting on your server by imposing IP or user agent blocks. I don't like Cloudflare besides Apache has a mod_geoip module and if this is installed/activate...

Re: PHP7 and the preg_replace problem

Eehh well yes.. Thats basically about it, together with the capt-cha problem. I followed these instructions from this German website; http://www.stephan-frank.de/board/index.php?topic=2.0 .. It's 3.0 code though. Not that it is much different from 3.1 or 3.2. Some people pretend like that a lot is c...

Re: Allowing Underscores in Searches

Right hhmmm.. I see why PCRE gets prioritized now... So the correct solution would be to replace;         if ($this->pcre_properties)         {             $split_keywords = preg_replace('#([^\p{L}\p{N}\'*"()])#u', '$1$1', str_replace('\'\'', '\' \'', trim($split_keywords)));         }           wit...

Re: Allowing Underscores in Searches

Sphinx is not a solution but a workaround. The problem is that phpBB in \includes\search\fulltext_mysql.php priorities PCRE preg_match_all instead of a PHP preg_match_all and in the PCRE code there is only p{L}\p{N} defined which matches a letter or number not an underscore. The PHP code a bit more ...

Re: Problems installing "Non-static method"

Right, thanks for this enlightenment (although I came across this problem with some other MOD yesterday as well and used your solution there). It's true, our installation isn't properly patched but that isn't for years already because it's too heavily customized (including the DB). I "handpicked" so...

Re: Problems installing "Non-static method"

Yes I am aware of that. I searched for a proper solution but couldn't find it. Maybe there is someone still dealing with the same issues. I don't want to make the 3.0->3.1 phpBB move and I don't want to switch off E_STRICT errors @ PHP5.4 and up ;) .. Which is the "official" solution (phpBB devs say...

Re: Problems installing "Non-static method"

Because xlfr6 is on the right path but overlooked something. This should be the function; function utf8_normalize_nfc($strings){ if (empty($strings)){return $strings;} if (!class_exists('utf_normalizer')){ global $phpbb_root_path, $phpEx; include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/utf/utf_normalizer.' . $...

when you use the quickedit on a global announcement, it gives a php error.
Dunno.. I edited the code so I get the old edit screen when someone tries to edit posting #1 of a topic.

I know. I've already done this :| Thats because the fix code is not complete Find this piece of code: generate_text_for_storage($post_text, $uid, $bitfield, $options, $allow_bbcode, $allow_urls, $allow_smilies); $sql_ary = array( 'post_text' => $post_text, 'bbcode_uid' => $uid, 'bbcode_bitfield' =>...

search.php: Find and $sort_days = request_var('st', 0); change it to; $sort_days = request_var('st', 90); Is the quickest solution I can think of ... Re: [3.0.x] Tweaks for large forums

This query is still frequently too slow... So I made some drastic alterations. First, I try to retrieve a possible good last_post_id which is lower than the post being deleted. I do that with help of the last_post_id's inside the phpbb_forums table. I skip the forums which are not so very active on ...
