I tried to implement that while creating softdelete. The problem is, it makes the queries way more complex and heavier. To add a further explanation of why the message needs to be visible and editable (if acl allows)... My role playing board needs new users to post a moderated introduction to their character. Allowing user to edit their posts queued for moderation

At the moment, when a user makes a post that is queued for moderation it just disappears until it is approved. Is it possible to adjust permissions so that a post or reply queued for moderation is visible to only the user that created it (plus moderators of course) and then to allow them to edit it ...
