Re: Plea to get Release Candidate (RC) extensions validated and approved

However the reality is far different. It seems to be that getting something to [RC] status seems to be equivalent to saying it is ready for deployment on live sites. Whether or not the developer ever plans to submit the [RC] version for validation and release to the CDB is generally never clear. Po...

Re: Plea to get Release Candidate (RC) extensions validated and approved

what timeperiod would be acceptable/recommended (... 6 months?) I would say a month should be max if extension is in a beta or RC state. As I see it.. alpha/dev versions shouldn't be posted there. In other words.. that version shouldn't be available for most users. There are too many people who don...

Re: Plea to get Release Candidate (RC) extensions validated and approved

The extension writer's ? I will rephrase what I said above. When there is no clear vision about future.. people lose interest (motivation/inspiration). About attitude.. There should be enough info about it in many topics. OP should understand one thing.. no one can force authors to submit their wor...

It has been answered many times in different topics. It's not only because of validation time.
I would say the shortest answer would be attitude & no clear vision about future.

Re: Log failures for Q&A captcha

As I said above.. I'm not against extra stats, but stats wont stop progress of so called AI nor make humans to read the question/s.
At some point in the future, logs will not tell us who is who.

Re: Log failures for Q&A captcha

Adding a new log section/category to see failures/successes wont do much and will only add extra statistics.
It can be easily implemented as an extension.
I'm not against this idea, but at the same time I'm not sure if it should be in the core.

Re: Who is online location

Currently.. only issue that is related to who's online is this.

P.S. it's always good to test issues with default prosilver & language + disabled extensions.

I haven't used that official update method for a long time.. In short.. it is made specifically for users who modify core code.
Everything is already built into it. I guess.. if You want to know more about it, You should test it, to see what it does.

As much as I remember.. Advanced update method already does it all, but I do not recommend it.

Re: Surveys to rescue abandoned extensions

What do you mean by official support? Some extensions you mentioned above are already being developed/maintained by some of the team members. I don't think that development team has time to spend on extra extensions, because main focus is on phpBB 3.4/4.0. Ideas section is for core ideas, that may h...

If you need a specific functionality (based on the info & link you posted).. then you should request an extension.

Re: Enableing HTML code in PHPBB

You already have an ability to use bbcodes & even add custom ones.
If you want a specific bbcode then you need to request one.
