Re: Problem with multiple forums

The cookies have to have unique names (e.g. forum_1_cookie and forum_2_cookie). See now I tried that and seemed to get the same result. According to that KB article posted above, it suggests that you have the cookies be set exactly the same on both forums. This would be impossible since the forums ...

I am actually setting up a multiple forum domain. But I'm unclear on what you are trying to accomplish. If your wanting the same post to display on both forums, in your datebase you have to rename "phpBB_post" and "phpBB_post_text" to "post" and "post_text". Then in the Include folder you have cons...

Problem with multiple forums

I am still having problems running multiple forums and seeing new posts across the forums. I have two forums: one at http://forums.ughq.com one at http://fps.ughq.com/forum/ They are sharing the same user database and it seems that once all posts have been read on forum 1, notification also dissapea...

According to the tutorial it says to share session, which I am doing right now but it is not working.

As far as the cookies are concerned, they are named the same but are set to come from:

forums.ughq.com

dnd.ughq.com

fps.ughq.com

I am not sure I can make all those the same.

Having Problem with New Posts since last visit

Hi, I am running several forums using the same memberlist database. http://forums.ughq.com and http://fps.ughq.com For some reason new posts since last visit do not show on both forums. If i go to forum 1 first then forum 2 will not show any new posts even though there are some and vice versa. I ass...

Anyone have any idea on this?

I am really at a loss at the moment.

I thought maybe "Sessions" had something to do with it but that did nothing.

Any help?

New Posts Not Showing Up Help

I am wondering what line of code or database entry tells a user which forums have new posts in them?

I am running several forums with a shared memberlist and find that new posts don't show as active on all the forums.

Any help would be appreciated.

Actually I have it working now and there is no need to remove the prefix in the DB. You can just use code like this: define('BANLIST_TABLE', phpbb_. 'banlist'); And yes I have discovered that all users share the same administration settinga cross all boards. I do not think there is any way to change...

yeah I guess the next thing I need to look into is more administration levels besides what is offered in the vanilla version of PHPBB. It's not that I do not trust people, well its just that...LOL..I guess I rather be safe than sorry.

Looks like admin access will be shared as well on all forums. Damn I was really hoping this would not be the case but what can you do.

Yes...I tried this just now and it does work. One final issue I am having is with trying to set admin status on a user with this kind of set-up. Currently trying to figure out how to make this work properly.
