Hacking reports. Where do they go?

My board was "hacked", and I don't really need support with it, I just want to submit a report of the incident in case it's helpful in patching up whatever phpbb3 hole they used to do it. It was a very wimpy hack, merely changing config.php, so I can fix it easy enough Do such reports go in the inci...

Re: Fake guest count

This time it's in the page_header() function in /includes/functions.php The variables are mostly the same. Find this part // Build online listing $vars_online = array( And put your variables right above it. Putting it before that part as opposed to putting it a bit further down will ensure that the ...

Re: [REQUEST] Automatic rotation of CAPTCHA background noise

I don't see how it would. Spambots can either filter noise with a certain accuracy or they can't. You should decide on what is the correct balance for defeating bots versus accomodating humans and use that every single time.

Re: How to add a new block in email settings....

Your server returns a 403 error on that image. We can't help you until you either upload it to a different, accessible host or location, or give a better explanation (I have a feeling we wouldn't know what you meant anyway, even if the image showed up)

Re: [DEV] My Profile Space

You shouldn't refer to this as a "myspace mod" if it doesn't interact with or have the endorsement of MySpace.com. "Myspace" is a trademark.

Re: [RC] Friend Codes Mod 0.9.0

You might want to fix the permissions on your board: Anonymous can download the files you post there, but not the logged in demo user?

Not like we can't just download it here, though

Re: [RC4] Shockwave Time Zone Clock

This is Flash, not Shockwave.
You won't help many people get it working if you tell them to install Shockwave, when what they really need is Flash ;)

Re: can i get hacked?

Empty threats in netspeak? No, I wouldn't take those seriously. "Hacking" a domain doesn't even make sense Security vulnerabilities are discovered and patched up, and new versions released. When people leave old versions installed, those tend to get "hacked" in the sense that they vandalize your boa...

Re: How many queries are "Too Much"?

Im thinking 1 select all could have been done, dump them into an array, and then grab what you need per forum.... Jesus, no, don't do that. That's an excellent example of a single query that itself is worse than many queries Always try to use the SQL query to pare down the data to as small as what ...

If you're sending messages on a cellphone, txtspeak is a smarter idea than typing each word out properly, because of the difficulty of creating each character. But, in situations where it serves no need - say, every other one imaginable - it's just lazy and idiotic. I really don't want to see it bec...

off the top of my head, I believe the field user_style in the table phpbb_users (or whatever your prefix is) contains that information, with a number (starting at 1) indicating which of the installed styles to use. so, also off the top of my head, you could do an UPDATE query manually on the databas...
