Yep, use phpmyadmin if you have it... and check all tables and do a check/repair/repair

Re: How to centre banner_main.jpg

Rather than shift it, wouldn't it be better to simply make the banner the correct size to fit/fill the space? If you're intent on centering it though, you'll probably find it in the theme's CSS file.

Lol. Isn't it ironic?

At any rate, it'll be great - even if the OS never catches on. M$ will work harder, as will Linux and the bunch because competition spurs a better product.

Re: Updating forum with many modification from 3.0.1 to 3.0.4

Either you'll have to go through each update's code changes, one at a time, or update to the lastest version and overwrite all files - then re-apply the mod changes. Honestly. it'll probably be easier to start with a fresh 3.0.4 set of files and redo all your modifications.

Re: Top 10 Mods

Quick reply, in my opinion, is very useful for pretty much any forum... but with that being said (like other have mentioned) everyone's top list will be different depending on the type of board.

Re: Warning: mysql_connect() Too many connections

It's a server issue. Your host will need to increase the max connections allowed to use mysql.

Re: Software that posts to a PHPBB for smartphone

I'd think it'd be easier to make or find a stripped down or phone optimized theme, install it on your forum, and use that one for browsing with your phone.

Rename the style to something else, then start editing it to suite your needs.

Re: Intermittent slow loading on two phpBB boards, two hosts.

It's clearly a hosting issue. Only way to know for sure is to find out the server load of the box you're hosted on. Most shared hosting providers host hundreds of users on the same server, and during slow times everyone is fast but when internet activity picks up during certain times of the then the...

Re: PSD to Style

Most styles are created by editing either the default prosilver or subsilver2. Much more work intertwining the variables and creating all the template files.

Re: Safe To Use htmlspecialchars_decode For User Input?

Most likely it would be safe from sql injections, check the database to see if characters such as quotes or brackets are stored as < vs < - if so then it's safe. As for XSS I dunno enough about that to answer, javascript would display since regular html would so maybe.

Re: How do I create a "Return to Website" link

You could also, instead of editing templates, create a forum and use the dropdown box when making it to instead "link" rather than category etc. Maybe make this your first forum.

Re: changing index page

You can edit the themes CSS from your admin panel. Styles => Themes => and then click "edit" for the theme you want to modify. CSS is used (usually) to control colors, sizes, and text formatting.

Re: Pros & Cons- Remind feature

Sending emails to previous spammers isn't going to increase spam, likely nothing will happen. You wouldn't overload the server by sending mails unless you sent out hundreds or thousands of mails at once and the server tried to process them all. Make sure the script or your server processes them in b...
