Re: 3.2.2->3.2.3 modified files warning, and unable to continue update process button

This last one was my fault, I made config.php 640 instead of 644. Just a typo. Though I could have sworn I tested functionality after fixing permissions but I'll take it.

Re: 3.2.2->3.2.3 modified files warning, and unable to continue update process button

Well yesterday I wiped out the phpBB3 folder and installed a fresh new 3.2.2. Uploaded my backup contents of files and avatar folders and checked all permissions, board was back and working fine. The only thing I noticed was different was the PHPBB logo top left was back where I had put ours there b...

Re: 3.2.2->3.2.3 modified files warning, and unable to continue update process button

Well I did a fresh install of 3.2.2, fixed permissions and pulled the config.php, files and avatars out of my backup and it seems the forum is back up and to normal. Not sure why my backup/restore wasn't working but I'm back at square 1 on 3.2.2. I think that's enough for a while.

Re: 3.2.2->3.2.3 modified files warning, and unable to continue update process button

I guess I'm completely hosed now. Trying to recover from my last post I restored the contents of phpBB3 and checked file/folder permissions. Board is completely crashed now showing this. [phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/phpbb/db/driver/mysqli.php on line 255: mysqli_fetch_assoc(): Couldn't ...

Re: 3.2.2->3.2.3 modified files warning, and unable to continue update process button

Edit: I restored the previous changes and started the below from a working forum. This isn't working either. Working from the changed files update and this help page: https://www.phpbb.com/support/documents.php?mode=install&version=3.2#update_files I took the contents of phpBB-3.2.2_to_3.2.3.zip plu...

Re: 3.2.2->3.2.3 modified files warning, and unable to continue update process button

That auto update info on version check is fixed & will be changed to full package in next version. There are so many topics about not using auto update method, so we can't say, there's no info about it. Full package is the right way to update! Thank you! I guess I will look for the full package upd...

Re: 3.2.2->3.2.3 modified files warning, and unable to continue update process button

Did you modify common.css and the common.php? I don't think I did. I remember changing something to accomplish hiding register links, my forum is LDAP. https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=556&t=2473986. Other than that I think I touched something to show our logo. That's it. If that if ...

Re: 3.2.2->3.2.3 modified files warning, and unable to continue update process button

As I keep getting a circular process above I checked and I do not have the files listed below even after it said it was going to add it. So I guess that's where it is hung up, adding new files. Is there a permission setting I need to change somewhere that isn't mentioned in the instructions? Why els...

Re: Attachment bigger than 1mb; Error parsing server response.

Well, click on the "response" tab (within network) and it shoud spoiler the exact error. You may want to try again.. That got me what I needed. I wasn't even looking in the right VM for the fix. 413posterrorp.png This forum sits behind a nginx reverse proxy and the proxy had the default 1mb limit b...

Re: Attachment bigger than 1mb; Error parsing server response.

You can check that the new values have taken hold, some hosts do not allow you to override some values. ACP >> System >> PHP Information Also check the value for max_input_time. Lastly if you check the servers error logs it should give you clue as to why it's failing. I'm self hosted, and my edit a...

Re: Attachment bigger than 1mb; Error parsing server response.

I made upload_max_filesize 20MB and post_max_size 25MB in the php.ini located in /etc/php/7.0/apache2/php.ini. I then rebooted the box (there were security updates pending). I still get the same error when uploading a 1028KB file. Further ideas? Edit; inside the forum I DO see those changes when loo...

Re: Securing the forum and exposing to the internet

Let me know if you can understand it. I tried to make it as layman as possible. The free version is all you really need and I mention that in my write up. OK, now that I know it's a WAF I can see some other options I can go. Specifically I'm thinking something involving a pfSense package mayb...
