Re: Quote pyramids

So after looking at it a bit, I'm... well, I'm lost :? I would assume it would require some regex, which I was never stellar at, but I'm not positive even where it would go ... PS: entirely aside from the thread, but I'm lazy and don't want to start a new one... is there a way to disable the cache w...

Re: Quote pyramids

Yes, that's the feature I discovered ;) But if it's set to 3, for example, and a user does try to post more than 3 nested quotes, the user gets an error saying they can't do that. What I'm looking for is a mod that will just automatically strip the innermost quotes. So, if a user tries to post ((((t...

Quote pyramids

So after leaving the phpBB community when phpBB3 was still "we'll release it eventually :)", I've finally jumped into playing around with the phpBB3 stuff, and looking at the features available. The intriguing one I discovered was limiting the amount of nested quotes... but if you go over the limit ...

Re: append_sid() with BBCode

Well, I guess I was wrong, because that KB article is here, too. I assumed it was a different one because it didn't mention anything about using append_sid with the BBCode. I tried editing bbencode_second pass() to get what I wanted, though I'm sure what I've done breaks the internet if a user tries...

append_sid() with BBCode

I want to be able to set the url BBCode such that if the link is going to my domain, it will use append_sid() on it to maintain the user's session. As fluff, I'd like to make it so that links to my domain open in the same window/tab, and links to other domains open in a new tab, but I figure if I ca...

Maintaining session info on website

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted on these forums... anyway, here goes: I'm trying to build a website integrated with phpBB. I want to keep information about the user's session when surfing the site as well as the forums, to restrict page access based on the account you're logged into. The pr...

Re: Centering and Flash

As I recall, there was an old MOD in the database which added many BBCodes (center, right, justify, strikethrough, etc.) -- Also, looking at existing BBCode MODs for your own edification could lead you to knowing how to make your own [center] BBCode (it's actually fairly simple if you're just adding...

Re: In Post Profile

I would suggest searching the MODs forum, but I've been gone a while, and haven't yet seen what changes have been made to the new site. I know that several MODs of this type were in development and several that had been abandoned, including my own.

If you're just trying to open a smilies page full screen, use JavaScript to open the page (as phpBB does now with posts), but rather than 250x300, make it the proper dimensions.

Moderator control panel (usually the bottom right corner of the forum) will let you delete a topic without looking at the content.

But what is the error you are getting when you try to view it?

Why? What if there are two admins, one is on vacation, and someone tries to register?

Google Groups emails all of the moderators of my mailing list when an unregistered person tries to post.

There are three main causes for this problem: Your PHPBB version is prior to 2.0.18, and your site uses PHP version 5. You will get no error message, but moderator privileges will not "stick". The solution is to update to v2.0.22. Your PHPBB database is originally from a pre-2.0.10 version of PHPBB...
