blanket change of DB password

Basically, what I'm looking to do is hand over my site to someone else. However, the password I use to connect to the DB is a password I use for other things as well, and as such I'd like to change it before handing the site over. Is there a way to make a blanket change to the password across all qu...

Thanks. It took some playing around, but I got it working. If anyone is interested, here's what I did. NOTE: I'm not a mod writer... this is what I did to make it work for me. in includes/usercp_register.php, find $emailer->assign_vars(array( it appears in the file a handful of times, I modded the c...

files for admin verification of new registrations (resolved)

I have my site setup so that an admin must verify all new registrations (due to issues with spam). Currently, when a new user signs up I get an e-mail sent to me notifying me of the new registration and a link to verify the account. I'd like the change the content of that email to include some basic...

tweak to user registration verification by admins

I have my board setup so that all new registrations must be verified by an admin (due to spam). Currently I get an e-mail notifying me of a new account with a link to verify it. I'd like an easy way to preview the account before verifying it. Currently I look up the account, but that gets to be a bi...

banning users whose Location = USA

I've noticed that most of the spam accounts I get set their location to USA. Since my site is for a local cycling club, no "real" user would set their location to USA. How hard would it be to auto-ban (based on IP) when a new account is created with the location set to "USA"? I have a mod installed ...

invalid key in account activation e-mails

Due to spammers, I've recently setup my boards to require admin account activation for all new registrations. I get the forum-generated e-mails notifying me of new registrations. The e-mail have a link in them for the new user account, but when I click on it, I get a messge saying the activation key...

I am having a similar problem... The first step in registering is the registration agreement terms. If the person agrees to the terms (by either clicking on the 13 or older link, or the under 13 link), they get a message back saying Sorry, but this username has already been taken. Yours is differen...

what file contains the "author" info?

when viewing a thread, the left hand column contains the author info for each post (username, avatar, etc.). I'd like to change the formatting of that info - what file contains that data?

Thanks.

"Who is online" info on a non-forum page

I use the Topics Anywhere mod to put recent forum activity on my site index page (not a part of the forums). Is there anything similar to that mod that will let me put the who is online info on a non-forum page? Doesn't have to be all that sophisticated... newest member and who is currently on-line ...

ooooh, ok... I think I know what it is. I think it came with Acyd Burn's attachment mod and it has to do with attachment quotas in regular posts and PMs.

PM settings in usergroup CP

What are these for? The options are Low/Medium/High - is that quota? Can I set some usergroups to have higher PM quotas than others?
