Re: Images Hijacked by Photobucket?

Further to this post , I have written a basic script in Powershell which uses Wayback's CDX server to query whether a copy of a given URL has been cached and is available for download at www.archive.org. The Wayback CDX server allow you to access information from the index used by archive.org. It wi...

Re: using cli

This might be a stupid question, but are you running php and calling phpBB CLI from the directory where the CLI php file is located?

Have you checked your php.log file to see whether there are any errors?

Re: Images Hijacked by Photobucket?

I cancelled my photobucket account last week, I went there to see if there was anything worth saving and got so frustrated with how slow it was I just deleted the lot. I hadn’t visited for years anyway but it is now a real pain in the arse. I suppose this is too late for you, but there is a way for...

Auto inline image caching

I think it would be extremely valuable to have an extension that automatically saves a copy of images embedded within [img] tags upon a user submitting a post. Yes I know phpBB has an attachment system. But it is far from ideal and users have always struggled with it. No matter what we do and how si...

Re: Images Hijacked by Photobucket?

do not assume that a 404 or incorrect MIME-type error means the images are no longer online Likewise do not assume that HTTP 200 means you get what you want: a couple of picture hosters no longer serve the original, but instead respond with a picture that has printed text on it (i.e. "removed" or "...

Re: Images Hijacked by Photobucket?

This is not specific to Photobucket but relevant to the utilisation of these scripts and recovery of dead images, and might therefore by useful to others. If your users have been utilising external image hosting services for a number of years, do not assume that a 404 or incorrect MIME-type error me...

Re: finally migrated to mybb here is my 2 cents

The like button can be easily implemented as an extension on phpBB. The Thanks extension is exactly the same thing. All that is required to make "thanks" "like" is to modify the language files. These are plain text documents and can be easily modified by anyone with half a clue. I did this on my boa...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Image Redirect

I just realised what the problem is. I fairly recently updated the harvesting scripts to add the original filename extension to the harvested files (which helps browsers understand some files) and I updated the extension at the same time, but I forgot the label and release the new version of the ex...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Image Redirect

Should any assets from the Image Redirect be identifiable when a page loads? From what I can tell looking at the code, it should. Using Developer Tools in Google Chrome to look at the example page I listed above, I cannot see that any assets are called upon from forum/ext/v12mike/imageredirect. The ...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Image Redirect

Which version of the extension have you installed? The latest on the first post, v 2.0.0-b2 In the Extension settings, is "Local Image Store Mode" shown as enabled? image redirect configuration.PNG Does it work correctly if you make a new post on your forum with the same PB image link? Unfortunatel...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Image Redirect

I seem to be having trouble getting the extension to display my images from harvested store. As noted elsewhere, scripts ran beautifully and I have harvested almost 80,000 images to date (just from Photobucket). I have also harvested all avatars and signature images and moved them to the images/ext/...

Re: Images Hijacked by Photobucket?

I have modified the scripts for avatars and successfully recovered around 650 Photobucket avatars. I will also make these modified scripts available to the original author for validation.

This now ought to cover every image in a normal forum except private message text.

Re: Submitting forum to a google search engine?

To add your site to Google search console, you need a sitemap, I believe there is a sitemap extension here (quickly search the forum for it), then add the sitemap to your Google Search Console, and add good meta tags to your board too. You don't need a sitemap to enable Google Search Console. You j...

Re: Images Hijacked by Photobucket?

Further to my post above, here are some tips for those running these scripts as I encountered a few problems: Run the scripts using php's CLI if you have a large database and have shell access. This way, I was able to run the scripts without any timeouts on a 7GB database. However, if the scripts en...
