Re: [3.3.0] Widen Timeframe of Recent Users?

ACP > General > Server Configuration > Load Settings > "View online time span" Default is 5 minutes. You can change this up to 999 minutes. With a manual code change, you can make this limit much higher. With an extension you can add a separate 24 hour stats section: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/...

Re: How to Stop Email Notifications for Non-active Members

UPDATE `phpbb3_user_notifications` SET `notify`=0 WHERE `method`="notification.method.email" AND `user_id` IN( SELECT `user_id` FROM `phpbb3_users` WHERE `user_lastvisit` > 0 AND`user_lastvisit` < 1487884864 ) Here's the down and dirty query that I came up with. Anyone that hasn't been active in th...

Re: How to Stop Email Notifications for Non-active Members

OK I have successfully managed to manually turn off email notifications for users with known dead email addresses. I did this using the queries I listed on the previous page. There were 120 affected accounts in my case. I created a spreadsheet listing the email addresses, then saved the values as a ...

Re: How to Stop Email Notifications for Non-active Members

I also think that being able to edit user notification options should be part of the core functions of the ACP rather than an extension. But it also doesn't! It would be contrary to every law regarding the freedom of will and personal choices of anyone. I don't know if privacy and personal ...

Re: How to Stop Email Notifications for Non-active Members

OK so here's one way of stopping email notifications for all known dead email addresses in one go. Start making a list of email addresses in any bounceback messages you get. Run the following query to identify affected user numbers (replace addresses with your list, contained in inverted commas and ...

Re: How to Stop Email Notifications for Non-active Members

Have you tried manually deleting records from the forums_watch and topics_watch tables for those users? I think the quicker way is probably to modify the user's user notification options to deselect "Email". This way they stay subscribed and don't lose their last visited stats for those susbscripti...

Re: How to Stop Email Notifications for Non-active Members

Stop chasing. If they get one notice but do not visit the topic (not thread) they will get no more. Solved. Nope. Not if they've chosen to receive notifications by email only - they'll continue to get notifications for every reply. This will often happen on old boards because the notification featu...

Re: How to Stop Email Notifications for Non-active Members

I recently brought up the same issue and suggested an extension to deal with it: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=496&t=2540906 There is no option in the ACP to individually override a user's notification preferences. Unfortunately, there is apparently no way for an extension to preve...

Re: Sending mails from the board - the ways, methods and options:

You can use the Gmail SMTP and still have ingoing and outgoing mail through your custom domain. This is very easy to set up and has excellent spam tolerance - often better than using your host's email, as you may otherwise need to setup SPF, DKIM and DMARC to ensure reliable email delivery. This can...

Re: Question about sucuri.net site checks

since there are no known issues with phpbb 3 I would simply ignore that site's opinion. I'm sorry, but this is terrible advice. Web server security goes well beyond phpBB. As it turns out, these particular warnings relate to server configuration, specifically response header settings. While impleme...

Re: phpBB.com Website Feedback

The copy of sphinx.conf used by this board needs to be updated to include the fix I wrote for 3.2.9/3.3.0. Specifially, HTML markup is being indexed as keywords. For example, if you search for "br", you get 2.5 million hits as every line break is treated as a keyword. See here: https://github.com/ph...

Thanks both of you, it appears that everything is working right now and I needed the preserve_headers: false!
Great. Thanks for reporting back. I will investigate this further and propose a patch to ensure others don't encounter the same confusion.

Re: Oversized Image Resizing (Server Side)

Looking back at my post history it turns out I experienced the same thing: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=15126841#p15126841 I needed to use preserve_headers: false to make it work. The original ticket to fix this issue suggested that change was not necessary (https://tracker.phpbb....

Re: Oversized Image Resizing (Server Side)

I'll try and clear this up as best I can. Plupload version 2.3.6 will automatically rotate any image that has EXIF orientation data signalling the orientation in which the picture was taken. This version of Plupload was included in all versions of phpBB from version 3.2.4 RC 1 (see ticket here: http...
