Looking for full maintenace contract

Ahh those good intentions that never seem to have got acted upon. Now a sudden and drastic change in health precludes my ever getting around to it. There would appear to be three things that need doing to get things straight for the board. 1) As there are a number of style/CSS edits a separate style...

Re: remove all colour tags from posts

What is in any post can be much more than a simple sentence and there can be multiple </s>'s.
So it is simpler to just change #000000 to #FFFFFF
That way you are only changing what was Black in a post to White and not altering anything else.

Re: Problem with changing the userprofile (website)

Not sure if it will be the same in Nginx but in Apache the mod_security log file is called modsec_audit.log I have noted that not all of the errors blocked and reported in that file appear in the normal Apache error logs. If the 403 is coming from mod_security, it should be logged in that file and w...

Re: Need help with my email settings.

As warmweer noted on Wed Jan 09, 2019 9:35 pm "How did you install your board? I used a tool provided by my host" Could this be why the OP quotes a known phpBB issue, the reason being that it an issue with THEIR version of the phpBB software ? Maybe it would be an idea to replace the Host's phpBB ve...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.4 Release

When going from 3.1 to 3.2 there was a lot of re-parsing that needed to be done which in some cases caused some difficulties with timeouts etc. With going from 3.2.1 to 3.2.4 it appears that the database needs to be updated again. Does this include more re-parsing or is it a very quick update of tab...

Hide/Show div button setting does not remain on page change

I'm using phpBB 3.2.1 and Prosilver with some edits. At the top of my board, below a bar menu, I have a bootstrap carousel that functions as a site navigation menu. However, it does take up some room so I would like to be able to Hide/Show it under the control of the user. Currently the HTML for the...

Re: JS function and multiple values for an element

I'm certainly no JS expert at all but I think you will need some sort of control structure in there to decide which value to assign to the variable. Maybe something like this :- var href = window.location.href; switch(href) { case "/path to/templateA.html" : dtstRating = {{ PERCENT_RATE }}; break; c...

Re: How to add more images in forum description

They are links not just images.

The HTML they are using is :-

Code: Select all

<a href="http://thrilling.forumfree.org/index.php?&amp;showtopic=97"><img src="http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/5779/oldlittleman.jpg"></a>
You might need to create a custom BBCode to achieve it.

Re: https redirects

Not sure about all the other stuff but if on a page you have a link to an external (possibly internal as well but not sure about that) image that uses http:// and not https:// then you will get that partially secure notification. This is normal and to fix it you would need to change the link to http...

Re: Best approach: Rewrite all IMG-Urls after HTML is build

It would be helpful to know a little more about exactly what you want to achieve. Assuming that due to the frequent change just reading the database via SQL and performing the rewrites in there is not a viable solution, then altering the HTML 'on the fly' would be your option. As Ger has mentioned y...

Re: Programmatically edited Post Text displays correctly but has blank lines in the database

Found the Problem. Firstly it turns out that it was a \n not a <br> and it was coming from the original post prior to editing. Did not spot it as when the text is rendered for display the \n is rendered as a space . Secondly my previous attempts to find a \n failed as it has to surrounded by "double...

Programmatically edited Post Text displays correctly but has blank lines in the database

The extension I am working on requires the ability to programmatically remove certain URLs from a Post Text. The code to search and find the URLs works perfectly, the issue I have is with editing them out of the Post Text. Having tried and failed with the generate_text_for_edit , generate_text_for_d...

Re: Unable to Upgrade from 3.1.9 to 3.2.2

I could be mistaken but this does not sound like the correct package :- 11.Upload the contents of the phpBB3 directory from your computer to your forum's directory. You may be prompted to overwrite the remaining files. If prompted to merge or overwrite directories, choose to merge them. As far as I'...

Re: Getting a 404 error for viewtopic.php on all topics but file exists.

From what you have said it appears you have access to your server, this being the case :- Find file modsec_audit.log and look in the entries in there to find the entry that is blocking the php file. Within that entry you will see something like [id "960008"] - this is the ID of the rule that is doin...

Re: Re-create Search Index while site live

@Janus I did not read it anywhere it just made sense to me not to have others accessing the database while it was being worked on. But I was not sure in this case hence my question. Under normal circumstances I would just test it out either on my PC or a site copy on the server, however in both of t...
