Thank you boys! I don't know how or why but there was a missing ); in the line above 205. I don't know much about coding but do know a little HTML so your advice helped a lot. I noticed that the open parentheses in line 204 had no close, so I stuck a ) and when that didn't work, I put a ); and that ...

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think there is no support for PHP version 5. I don't think it works. Step down to verson 4 if you can.

I had similar problems, it could be a directory issue - the forum works best when it is in its own directory from what I can tell - though I am no expert by far.

Do you have space at your host? Maybe you can allow people to upload their images to a special folder on your server space and use the BBCode to link to it.

You don't need to alter the code you can just rename the .gif. If you need to, download cute_ftp (or any FTP program) and navigate to your forum. You will go into the templates folder and see the images folder inside subsilver folder or whatever template you use. Change the name of logo_phpBB.gif to...

There are many ways to do it and there is a "brand" called LinkExchange as well I think. People trade links - like you described - you put one for them and they put one for you. This not only increases exposure but it also improves your ranking with some search engines. The more people that link to ...

Thank you guys! It worked this time I must've done something wrong last time I tried that. I was just a tad confused when you said "install" but when you said "move it all" I just moved the entire forum folder up one directory and the icons work now. I appreciate your help. I have another error (mem...

flogger12 Thank you for your advice. Can I just move it using FTP to its own folder? Or do I have to reinstall in another directory? I had difficulty getting it to install in the first place, until I (finally) put it in the php_uploads folder. Re-installing will lose my mods but I guess I can overwr...

Hi, I don't know about your host but I have the ability to log into my server, go into the php admin area, see the DB tables, and literally make changes directly to the users.php table - I can add, delete, or change any of the fields this way. I haven't done it, nor would i know how to encrypt the p...

Again, I am quite green so I am not sure what you are asking. What I did was go into the admin panel and replace the DNS, which was monkeshine.jodoshared.com and just put in the numeric 8.10.3.97 - doing that allowed me to submit my CP changes one time only (I got a confirmation) but then that was i...

Gentlemen, I went ahead and put the numeric numbers of the Domain Name (i.e. 8.10.3.97) into the DNS instead of the text based URL and that seemed to clear the first hurdle! Now, I get a different error - you are right a slash is missing (error: The requested URL /phpbb2index.php was not found on th...

Thank you nurhendra and Jim_UK for your assistance, however, my script path is /phpbb2/ and I have already made the alterations to functions redirect script as noted in the knowlegebase. I will attempt to make the changes to the SMTP server you noted, Jim, but I am not there yet. I am not able to ma...
