Re: DDOS attack on board

Personally I've used CloudFlare for testing on a development board, and it was simply a matter of setting it up correctly. You can find documentation on Cloudflares site, as well as the link a few posts above to return correct IP addresses for users. Be advised that CloudFlare acts as a CDN - if the...

Re: Testing user permission on banned user

Banned users are not able to pass the login process, therefore ban enforcement takes place when logging in (or simply visiting the board in case of an IP ban). That explains why you are still able to browse the forums under that user.

Re: Forum Description Length

I;d rather not mess with the actual code of the website. I think that is the only way that you will get around this problem as the 4000 character limit is hard coded in acp_forums.php on this line if (utf8_strlen($forum_data_ary['forum_desc']) > 4000) . Not sure what the implications would be if yo...

Re: Strange post view numbers

Forum view counts are dynamic, each refresh increases views. If your server doesn't have anything in place, someone could run a script and increase views that way.

Re: Internal server error or HTTP error 500

The set_magic_quotes_runtime() function is not used in version 3.2 of phpBB (don't think it is used on 3.1 either, but I could be wrong). Redownload the main phpBB 3.2 files and replace them through FTP, excluding the following: config.php store download styles Delete: cache You could also simply re...

Re: Allow Site logo ( forum logo ) to be changed from ACP

Voted. If I can enter the site description, I should be able to add the site logo. I agree it will help to make the software more user-friendly. The site description is a dynamic setting stored in the database, whereas a site logo can literally be anything, dependent on the style. For example, some...

Re: I want to re-install my phpBB3 forum under the correct URL.

If under the same host/server, you should be able to simply move the files to the other folder (nothing should change relating to the database, given you move config.php accordingly). You may need to adjust cookie settings through the ACP, purge the cache after this is done. Keep in mind you may hav...

Re: [3.2][RC] Random Banner

This seems useful, and I will definitely test it later. Few things I notice solely from this topic; Inconsistency in the ACP tab - it says "link URL", yet the input box says "target URL". You have to link the images directly. A feature to simply rotate through a folder would be cool. The tab seems g...

Re: Make forum banner change when page is refreshed

This is sort of hacky, however you can try following the general gist of the we_universal FAQ here (even if using a different theme, however will need some edits). Creat new directory called headers/ in styles/we_universal/theme/ location. You should put all header images in the new directory. Now o...

Re: Delete "Remember Me" Login Keys

Dears, When delete anything in the forum, we see always confirmation message for that delete action ( Are you sure you want to delete... ? ) But only when you delete the Login Keys of "Remember Me", the deletion process goes on without giving a confirmation message. Why ? 00001.jpg I assume this is...

i thought this is some weird error, if i remember well, about year ago (when i did last fresh phpbb installation) this forum was visible by default
Considering you're missing the MCP tab, perhaps the admin account wasn't set up properly. Are you in Global Moderators and Registered Users?

Re: Sections visually disappeared but still in database/ACP

Seems the left and right IDs have been misplaced. I too have suffered this, and it does not seem there is currently a way to fix this inline through the ACP. If you have file access to the web server, you can upload fix_ids.php to your main directory. Once uploaded, access the file through your brow...

Re: Activating reCAPTCHA v2 in 3.2.x

Additionally, using a unique question for user registration may be a worthy alternative as even humans can find capatchas pesky. This can be something relevant to your board that can't be immediately found on an engine such as Google, but should not be a simple mathematical operation.

Re: 3.2 Fresh Install - Constant Errors

My backup (from 3.0.2) has 43 tables. My database for my new forum (3.2.2) has 71 tables. Something tells me these wont be compatible. The phpbb_users table may be named differently on such an old version, and the reason there are so many additional tables is additional features between them. For u...
