I use Firefox 1.5 and the Wizz RSS extenstion from www.wizzcomputers.com Seems to work for me. Right it works in FF fine, but if I want to use the RSS feed to display posts on a different page I need to use an RSS parser, none of which seem to work with this mod. check out magpie. I've been having trouble getting this work with some php rss readers (notably Last RSS). I cannot, for the life me, get it to properly read the rss file in. I have a feeling it is because this mod generates the rss file on the fly, but does anyone have an RSS parser that will work with this?

Sorry if this sounds presumptuous, but why not just tell users to check the box which says "Log me on automatically with each visit?" Right, that covers users visiting phpbb-protected pages, but what I'm asking about are pages that are covered by own login system. Basically, I'm wondering if someon...

I'm looking for an answer to the same question.

Both of those tutorials linked cover how to use phpbb's login system to protect other pages, what I want to know how to do is synchronize my sessions with phpbb's. When a user logs into my database, I want him to be logged into phbb's as well.

First, the question of site-wide integration has been answered a bunch, just search for it.

Second, I believe there are a few image galleries that integrate directly into phpbb, check out the mods section.

Okay two problems First, EasyMod doesn't take my username and password for ftp. I've double-checked it about 25 times and it is correct. I tried entering my ftp path rather than just localhost, nothing works. Second, I tried to register on the area51 forums to report this problem, but I cannot. The ...

So, just quickly before I start hacking into the groups php file for adminstrators, is there any easy way I can allow regular users to add groups? And also is there any easy way to add fields to the group registration form?

100 groups in and of itself should not slow anything down. Having 1,000 people logged in at the same time will. :-) How many users do you expect to have, total? How many users do you expect to have logged in concurrently? Those are the questions that will really have an impact on how well your boar...

You may want to take note of phpBB's usergroups function. You could use phpBB's user database and permissions system to create something more involved. Yeah, I was looking into this. Would you happen to know if a system like this could function with, say, 100 such groups? Or would this slow down th...

Expanded Groups?

Hey guys, I'm trying to organize a module for a site that will allow users to register, create a new group and join it, or join an existing group. So basically, a user registers, has an option to join an existing group. If they don't see the group they want, they simply create a new one. Each group ...

A Little Guidance Requested (login integration)

Here's what I would like to do. I was planning on building a php app that basically allowed users to register, add themselves to one of a number of groups... soon, however, it became apparent that we would also need a forum, which is why I have turned to phpbb. My question is, when a user registers ...

Profiles Question - expanding the use

I use phpbb for a forum at my team's website. i'm working on an alumni section right now and I realized that the current system for bios that i created is not flexible or powerful enough. I know there are mods out there to expand the usage of Profiles, so here is my question. First, would it be viab...
