where to set language encoding?

i remember there's a place either in the database or in a php file to set language encoding from isoxxxx to some other encoding method for the entire forum, but i couldn't remember where exactly it is. could anyone help me out?

dudes, i don't think running either an outdated phpnuke or phpbb is the cause of this type of attack, since this problem is also found in the latest pure version of phpbb (2.0.20). so i guess phpBB developers should be informed about this so it can be fixed. i'm a victim too, btw. this is a good fin...

user classification through number of posts?

hi,
i guess this might be a stupid question to ask, but how do i set a classification for user like "Valued Contributor" or "Development Team" or something like that?

is there a mod that can log and show names, date and time in ACP everytime when a regular user log in to the website? and also show every user logged in to the website in the past week or a few days? this is the only feature i'm looking for.....

admin permission question

is there any way that i can prevent one or more administrators from seeing a forum?
cuz i still need them to be administators, just don't want them to see certain forums.

hi everyone, i'm having a little trouble modifying subSilver... i tried to change the corrosponding header background (cellpic3.gif) and some color settings in subSilver.css but the outcome never changed, unless i replace the cellpic3.gif with something else that goes with the same file name. should...

but it's still a mystery.....cuz i never touched the lang_main.php setting, it was kept in iso8859-1 on both servers....

what exactly does the version check do and how is it related with the webserver according to what you said...?

ok here's what i got... i just installed tranditional chinese language pack for testing the encoding problem. if the language is set to be in traditional chinese by users, the display is correct without changing the encoding through the browser. but i never used the language pack on the original ser...

oh and the weird thing is, if i do exactly the same thing on the original server (install a new version and restore the database on the origianl redhat server) , everything works just fine.... :?

any ideas what the problem could be?

it doesn't matter if 2 systems are different, right?
the original server is a redhat, the new server that i'm importing the database to is a mandrake, but both are running apache and mysql.

or would it matter if the apache version on the machines are different?
