phpBB 3 Spam. Are you getting it too?

I have been getting a lot of spam while using phpBB RC5. It started two days ago. Has anyone else been getting a lot of bogus accounts promoting car loans, pornography, photoshop, and all that usual spam?

Ah, you're correct, misread the post. However, the converter bug was 3.0RC2 -> 3.0RC3, which was just released earlier today, so that still doesn't explain what caused your problem. Yeah, you're right. This new release seems to fix the problem. I will, however, use the latest version of 2x for now ...

Thanks but that wasn't it. They problem was being caused by phpBB3 RC2 data Convertor. phpBB Group released RC3 today which fixes this problem [ Official Announcement ].
