Re: Putting live board on an SVN repository? What do you think?

Cheers, that's a really useful reply :) We've been thinking about setting up an SVN repositry on our own server so that we can link in things like bug-trackers etc which SF don't support... But we'd decided against it as we thought it wasn't a good idea to have both our live version and our svn on t...

Re: Putting live board on an SVN repository? What do you think?

Hey, I'm from the same boards... The idea isn't for people to download it pre-modded. The idea is that we can keep track of everything done to our live boards very easily, which would be useful as we develop our mods. The problem is sourceforge (our SVN host) don't enable you to hide parts of the re...

Re: Error in Conversion - Setting config 'convert_progress'

I'd recommend two things: 1) Check the amount of memory you have allocated to MySQL... If you've got big posts, you'll need a good amount of memory. I've got some huge posts on the forum I converted, but it worked fine at 128MB for the key buffer and sort buffer. 2) Go into the phpBB3 admin panel af...

Re: Error in Conversion - Setting config 'convert_progress'

Yes! Solved my error - some private messages with too many smilies!

I'm going to report it as a bug, as it should really catch that kind of error...

Re: Error in Conversion - Setting config 'convert_progress'

I think the error I was hitting might have been due to mySQL.... I tried massively increasing the memory available to it, and it came out with a different error: SQL ERROR [ mysqli ] MySQL server has gone away [2006] SQL SET NAMES 'binary' BACKTRACE Again, it's MySQL has gone away, but this time it ...

Re: Error in Conversion - Setting config 'convert_progress'

There can be many reasons, such as your connection crashed, your server was overloaded, your host had some problem, there was some problem on your PC - basically I have no idea why all I know is that it does happen from time to time. Surely if it was something as simple as that, it wouldn't repeat ...

Yeah... I know that much... The question is why, and how can I fix it... Or is it a bug in phpBB3...

Error in Conversion - Setting config 'convert_progress'

Converting from a large forum ~60K posts, I got through all the posts and then got this error: SQL ERROR [ mysqli ] MySQL server has gone away [2006] SQL UPDATE phpbb3_config SET config_value = 'a:3:{s:4:\"step\";s:39:\"&current_table=16&skip_rows=546\";s:12:\"table_...

Re: "Set Names Binary" 2.0.22 to 3.0 error

Surely there must be something making MySQL crash?

Is there any way of finding that out?

Problem with MODX/XML

Hey, I've been trying to play with MODX formats, and it just comes up with this: XML Parsing Error: not well-formed Location: file:///D:/server/phpBB2/changes.xml Line Number 135, Column 9: <!-- IF S_SHOW_ATTACH_BOX --><li id="attach-panel-tab"><a href="#tabs" onclick="subPa...

Yeh - it was a mod we have installed... I've renamed that function (is part of a very small mod) and now you should be good to go.

Ah - thank you! I checked that one out, and during uploading, it seemed to have an error in the schema's directory and I didn't realise! Works perfectly now! Cheers!

Install not creating tables in Database

Hi, I tried to install phpBB3 Beta, but in the 'Final Stage' section of the install, it came up with this error: install_install.php [ 1143 ] SQL : INSERT INTO phpbb_config (config_name, config_value) VALUES ('board_startdate', 1150642871) Table 'jamiea64_olympus.phpbb_config' doesn't exist It looks...
