Re: how to remove iFrame

this probably has something to do with the board3 portal. if you scroll down to the bottom of your main page and right click you will see that there is a iframe there. if you choose open in new window it just redirects to the very same place. so, you have some type of redirect going on that is putti...

Re: Change landing page from index.php to viewforum.php?f=1

phpBB does come with several htaccess files. If you do not see one in the board root then it is most likely because your ftp
does not show files with no extension or that start with a dot.
if you now have two htaccess files that might be the problem.

Re: Change landing page from index.php to viewforum.php?f=1

using htaccess is using apache.

I believe it should be:

DirectoryIndex viewforum.php?f=1 index.php index.htm index.html

copy and paste because it has to be exactly like that.

Re: Reset default style, but db still shows user_style = 1

I believe you will find that everyone is actually using the custom style you set for the override. I have noticed that when you set it up this way that it will still show the members using the style they had chosen before you changed it. If you were to decide to click no for override and the board h...

Re: Rank images not loading as svg

I would suggest you wait to see if and when phpbb decides to change to allow svg images for ranks. the point is that unless you are willing to edit several different php files in several different places, you can't use svg images. also, this is only rank images. the benefits you get from svg really ...

Re: Problem connecting to database

blue host works just fine as a host. they are only an advertiser here just like the other hosting companies that advertise here. if you can use your hosting cpanel file manager and if you can manage moving files around on your computer then you can manage ftp. most likely you did not put the files w...

no, if you install using their "baked in installer" you will most likely have problems . we see it all of the time here. you will not get support from your host for their installer either because it is not theirs. it is from a company that sells them that product so they can offer it to th...

Re: Problem connecting to database

first problem is that the video you watched leaves out one step. when you create a database you have to go back and add the database username to that database and then go back and give that database user full privileges for that database. that is most likely why you got the "could not connect&q...

In that case , the answer to any and all support questions has to be "42"
