Re: [Split] Extension for - Friendly URL ?

you can certainly do as you please but I seriously doubt that any other bulletin board software is any better with seo than any other bulletin board software. the trick for good seo is mainly good content. after that, you look at the standard things like keywords ( related to good content naturally ...

Re: Partial conversion from 3.0.x to 3.2.1

you need to remove those modules from the admin panel system tab, last section on the left. module management/admin panel find and remove the mobiqo thing and any other strange looking titles with underbars in them. some times you have to drill down a few levels to actually find the bad one. robert

Re: updating from 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 major error

the file replacement method is the simple way to do it.

you just replace all the old files with new ones except for the few mentioned. then run the database update and you are done.

Re: Ignore specified forums from statistics

lots of people want to figure out a way to increase the post totals on their board. we get a lot of requests for that but very few want to reduce them.

well, in your case, those two styles are going to take a bit more updating. square left is 3.2.0 and the subsilver one is 3.2.2

Re: Users cannot post after 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 upgrade

I would start over completely. the first mistake was using the bitnami thing to install phpbb. those files are not the same ones you get from here and often cause the exact problems you described. then, when you updated you used the auto update method which is not working very well these days. the c...

Re: Social Network Extension for 3.2?

why not install a social networking script and then add phpbb as the bulletin board for it.
after all, phpbb is basically just a bulletin board script.

Re: notifications not showing

what style is it? updating the style from 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 is very easy . there are only about 3 or 4 changes. you download the relevant files to your computer, you open the relevant file in your text editor only. you make the changes, you save and upload back. https://area51.phpbb.com/code-changes/3....

Re: updating from 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 major error

yes, the auto update sucks and has sucked for a while. that is why the current proper update method is this:
https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... ating-32x/

apparently in the next update the admin panel will no longer recommend the auto update method.

Re: [Split] Extension for - Friendly URL ?

your examples are not good. they do not represent actual searches with keywords. people do not search for urls, they search for keywords. if you do a search for keywords/phrases then when google finds a post on a phpbb board with those keywords it will show up in the serps no matter what the url is ...

Re: [Split] Discuss: phpBB 3.2.3 Release (update problems)

you are supposed to be replacing all of the old files with new ones except for the ones mentioned in the instructions.

if you are still trying to use the auto update method then that is going to be your problem.

point is that phpbb does not come with a center bbcode at all. you do have to create one yourself. the posts above show you how.

no phpbb since 3.1 have had any way in the admin panel to refresh the styles (template/imagesets, theme )

Re: Control of Apperance

and the answer to your question about the html pages is yes and no. phpbb does not have normal html pages . it is a dynamic set of scripts and templates that create complete web pages on the fly depending on what you click on. the yes part of the answer is because if you look in your ftp you will se...
