Re: Need help recovering our phpBB Site

since the host is the one that installed wordpress you should ask them to uninstall it. I assume that you are not using wp and did not ask for it to be instaslled etc.

Re: can't use phpBB due to excessive spam

glad you have your spam under control.
just FYI, if you use the built in Q&A in phpbb with the right type of question, no spam bots will get through.
nothing can stop the occasional human spammers, not even cleantalk whatever that is.

luck,

Re: how to register & post on forum

first, everyone who is registered is in the registered user group. including admins. the board sends emails to the email address in your personal user control panel ( UCP ). there is no admin email address per se. there is a board address that people can send emails to for help etc. but that is not ...

Re: Linking phpbb to my site

you shouldn't try to open phpbb actually inside wp page. the best way to do it is to simply create a link to your board using the tab or whatever your menu has. then, the board will simply open a page either replacing the one they were on or opening a new window. you can code the link for either met...

Re: Need help recovering our phpBB Site

you must not be looking in the correct place. how are you looking at your root? are you using ftp or your hosting control panel etc.? your site should be setup so that you see the public_html folder or it may be called www or htdocs, just depends on the server software etc. the first thing you shoul...

Re: How to modify ACP?

that is about a very old version but essentially the answer now is the same. go to your admin panel, left side choose "load settings" about half way down that page is a setting for "recompile stale ...." set that to yes, purge the cache and refresh your browser cache. now every change you make to an...

Re: Need help recovering our phpBB Site

ok, now I understand what has happened. you will need ftp access to the server to be able to fix this. you need to go to your server root. now, you will need a copy of phpbb 3.0.11 get it here: https://download.phpbb.com/pub/release/3.0/3.0.11/phpBB-3.0.11.zip download that to your computer, unzip i...

Re: How to modify ACP?

the cache system has nothing to do with it. you should clear the cache after every change you make to the code so your browser will reflect those changes. you never edit any of the files in the cache directory, they are only temporary files in the first place. so, go to the adm directory, find the r...

Re: [Release] Forumbook for phpBB 3.2.2

I have the code with the logo in the config inserted. But first I want to remove the phpbb logo and then insert a new logo. Or can I simply upload a logo and this will be replaced by the phpbb logo? you don't need to mess with the config file if you just want to replace the stock logo with yours. r...

Re: Change the Header Logo

sorry, the site logo extension is not ready for prime time yet.
do this:
rename your logo file to site_logo.gif and

upload your logo image to styles/forumbook/theme/images

go to your admin panel and purge the cache.

refresh your browser cache.

unless you have been editing the core phpbb code for some reason there is no reason to be using that auto update method.

that link takes you to a wordpress blog that only has the one default post.
do you have a different address for what you think is the phpbb forum?

Re: How to modify ACP?

my advice is to simply install a test board. then edit as you wish. then, when it breaks, just replace the files with new ones and try again.
