Re: ELI5, migration, Tapatalk, and some questions.

yep, unless you can get a database backup from tapatalk you are going to be out of luck.

the files don't matter, just the database.

luck,

I'm with Kev, it seems that you forgot to explain what problem you are having that you have wasted all this effort on.

Re: Need help with my email settings.

first check to see if you have your notifications set properly to get email for any purpose. if so, then of course try what was mentioned above, if that doesn't work, contact your host. phpbb does not control how the email works. it only uses whatever process your hosting company provides for you. y...

Re: New installation with old database?

do not install the Milk style until your board is up and running properly with the default prosilver.

once it is, then upload and install the custom style and it will work properly.
make sure your milk style is for the version of phpbb that you are running.

Re: How can the moderator see who the guests are?

guests by definition are guests and are anonymous. unless you have given the guest group permission to post then all they can do is view the board/forums that you have that permission set for. therefore, there is no reason to worry about who they are etc. as for your "if it aint broke" idea. 3.0 is ...

Re: Can't load forum - 504 Gateway Time-out

yep, looks like either they don't have a clue what they are doing. or they simply want you to upgrade your service. I would make backups of everything especially the database(s) and get a new host as soon as you can. not sure what "Ceph storage since your website is using NFS storage" means at all. ...

Re: Timeout during update to 3.2.5

ok, since you have rolled it back you can now start over. the full package method is the way to go. follow these instructions exactly and in order : https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3.2/kb/article/updating-32x/ however, do not leave the folder named "store" on the server. delete it as well as t...

Re: Installation stops, "unable to insert bots"

keep php at 7.2 and start over.
upload all new files, make sure that mysqli is available on the server to start with and choose it when installing.

part of your errors seem to indicate that some of your files are not there or are corrupted.

UFO's are funny little things, most (if not all) don't stay U all that long ;)
although clever, that statement is not very accurate.

there have been thousands of credible reports over the years that still are not indentified and remain "U".

Re: Damaged file in 3.2.5?

my question would be why won't it upload. I have been using filezilla on many many different servers over the years and have never seen this happen before. I didn't even realize that those index.htm files were 0 bytes until now.
