Re: Getting a 404 error for viewtopic.php on all topics but file exists.

this is something your host needs to fix. they have it set way too strict. you really have no control over this other than to possibly turn it off from your cpanel. I have never seen one set this strict that it will not allow normal php files to be executed. any way, contact your host support, ask f...

Re: Three features you would like to see in 3.3.

how are you even sure that was the actual hacker? why would you believe anything a hacker says? why would someone that hacked phpbb.com admit it in the open and leave themselves open to prosecution? I think I would believe the staff at phpbb quicker than some anonymous person online that claims to h...

Re: Is There A Way to Post an Interstitial?

true but you are supposed to replace all the files immediately after you delete them. the chances of someone trying to access in that short time are slim. if they do they will simply get a 404 or a blank page etc. when they check back in a minute or two, the board will be back and they will get the ...

Re: 3.2.2: no Mod-area button outside forum/topic view?

the mod button will only show up in places where it is relevant. for instance, there would be no reason for a mod button on the search page etc.

it shows up on pages that the mod functions can be used etc.

Re: blank, white page after upgrade

for the php errors. seems like there is a problem with some part of the vendor folder. I would upload a new copy of that folder to overwrite the one that is there. see what happens. as for the second batch of errors that shows some major problems with your server mod security setup for things other ...

Re: 3.2.2: no Mod-area button outside forum/topic view?

if all mods have mod permissions for all forums them put them all in the global moderators group. that way they will see the mod button on all pages that mod functions are available for.

Re: 403 Forbidden error

I have found that any time you contact support you should ask for level two support or for the supervisor etc. the people that answer the phone or the chat know how to turn the pages in the manual and ask dumb questions like "did you turn on the computer" etc. They usually don't have a clue about ho...

your first post made no sense. 500 indexed in total, what is indexed? 500 what indexed in total? what is indexed? what does that mean? what I said about starting a conversation in the middle is true. you seem to do that all the time here. I was not trying to mean, I was trying to make you understand...

most likely your host changed something. those types of changes don't just happen by themselves. if you did nothing then that leaves your host.

I do believe it is still the most used bb software in the world. one reason there is not more activity here is because the software just keeps getting better and better so there are not that many people having problems with it. remember, the only people that come here are those with problems. the ra...

Re: How to BLOCK user access - UPDATE phpBB 3.1.12 to the currently latest phpBB 3.2.2 - ALLOW again user access?

first, make sure you have cleared the cache on those browsers where it doesn't work.
if that doesn't fix it try this, in common.css under site logo again. try adding this line:

background-repeat: no-repeat;

dont know if that will work but it is worth a try.
