Re: Another "relative path" conversion confusion..

there is something strange here. your database is not in a folder of any kind. never has been. you do not access your database via ftp or any file manager etc. so, if the hack is simply putting up a page with that message to replace your index.php page then it really has nothing to do with a databas...

Re: Sub-Forum Banner

good work.

just remember when you start to add the other banners for other forums, be very careful with your edits.
every single space, arrow etc. etc. has to be exact or it does not work.

Re: permission change from 3.1.10 to 3.1.12

thanks, I must be tired. I didn't even think to look at the template files for this, got stuck on trying to find what permissions were changed.

Re: Another "relative path" conversion confusion..

not that we have heard of. didn't you say you are hosting your own server? setting up a home server to be secure is very difficult unless you really know what you are doing. that could be where the hacker got in. also, exactly what type of hack are we talking about? were you just getting a lot of sp...

Re: YouTube

the extension mentioned above is much better,
however, if you really want to use a bbcode then please post the exact bbcode and html replacement you are trying to use.

Re: Sub-Forum Banner

ok, here is a version that does work.
replace your acidtech/template/viewforum_body.html file with this one:
https://phpbbusers.com/support/viewforum_body.zip

purge the cache and test. let us know when you have done it.

Re: Sub-Forum Banner

I have no idea what all that is for. the code I posted above is absolutely correct and works everytime if you do it correctly. the OP is simply not able to get the code entered correctly and/or his edits are being cached and he has not cleared the cache yet to see the new edits. robert I just checke...

Re: Standart avatar

You don't need a extension for this. Just setup a group avatar and it is OK. (Manage groups) ok, I'll bite, what group are you going to use for this? you can't use the guest group because if someone is registered then they would not be in the guest group. you can't use the registered usergroup beca...

Re: Trying to copy a PHPBB from one hosting company to another

***similar instructions as in the previous posts*** I agree with Lumpy that starting by setting up a new board into which the old database would be imported is probably easier (and less work), but at this stage I would go for a 3.0.12 and not 3.2.5, just a ascertain that the 3.0.12 is functional. A...

Re: Updating to php7

you have a different error.
make sure that the files are all there, upload a fresh copy of the folder named phpbb inside your forum directory. make sure it is from the phpbb version you are currently using.

also, make sure you are not using php 7.3 as it is not compatible with phpBB3

Re: Sub-Forum Banner

no bother. however, you have not done it correctly because I still see the same code mistakes in your html file. either you have not changed the right file or you have not uploaded the right file or you have uploaded it to the wrong place or you have not purged the cache. you can see if you can acce...

Re: Sub-Forum Banner

I have a feeling that the mistakes in your code are what is causing the 500 error. if you can get into the admin panel, purge the cache from there. If not, then use your ftp and access your board and delete everything from the cache folder except for the index and htaccess files. then hard refresh y...

Re: Sub-Forum Banner

it is in certain places but in this case it must be there for the IF statements but not for the actual banner code. currently you have this: <!--IF FORUM_ID == 24 -- you are missing the space needed after the -- and you are missing the closing > it should be this; <!-- IF FORUM_ID == 24 --> like I s...
