Re: Automatic email to replier when reaction on reply

not sure I understand what you are wanting. when you are subscribed to a forum/topic and you have your notifications set to email you will already get an email. if you are the one that made the reply why would you need an email telling you that you made a reply? it you mean something else please exp...

Re: Unable to Upgrade from 3.1.9 to 3.2.2

yes , those instructions are correct. you use the full package, not the update package. you delete all the old files except for the three folders and config.php file from the server. you don't have to worry about deleting the folders from the upload but it doesn't hurt. you do have to delete the bla...

Re: Users with identical permissions: one sees no topics, others see all topics in same forum.

to start with, you should not use user permissions. you should always use group permissions and group forum permissions. that will make things much easier to control and to figure out. make sure that every member including you are in the registered user group and that the registered usergroup has pe...

Re: Marketplace extension

like I said, much quicker and simpler to just add a marketplace/classifed script to your site. link it to phpbb if you have a reason to discuss things at your marketplace. that is how most people do it to begin with and it seems to work much better that way.

Re: Anti lurker extension

bottom line, give your "lurkers" a reason to register and post and they will. simple as that. you are suggesting things that will turn them away not entice them to register.

Re: User Forum Access

how many of those forums actually have topics/posts in them? you would be better off slimming down that list of forums to the ones that actually are being used. then only add new ones when there is a real need for them by your members.

Re: Firefox Quantum Addon for PhpBB codes?

I guess maybe that could be another reason why I never use wikipedia. I don't understand why anyone would depend on anything found on wikipedia as being accurate. I am sure that many of the entries ( maybe even most ) are accurate and true. however, considering the way it works, there is no way to k...

Re: Firefox Quantum Addon for PhpBB codes?

that is interesting about the correct abbrevitaion. I have been using mozilla products and only mozilla since 1995 ( netscape came on two or three floppy disks back then ). this is the first I have ever seen or heard of firefox being abreviated as "fx".

oh well,

Re: How to limit New User Postings

I believe you will need an extension for something like this. as far as I know there is no way in standard phpbb to do this.

you can request the extension in the extension request forum.

Re: Button for topic update notification

not sure what you are asking. the fact that a user is subscribed to the forum, by default, the board sends a notification every time a new post is made since the last time he/she visited.
kind of the whole point of the notification system.

when I visit that link I do not see that style at all. have you tried purging the cache after you make changes to the style? also, right click on the page and choose "inspect element' or whatever your browser provides to inspect the code of the page and the css etc. also, you can right click on the ...

Re: Anti lurker extension

havent' seen your board but maybe you just need to make it more interesting. then maybe so called "lurkers" would go ahead and sign up to post. or, you could just make one forum open to guests and post a few interesting things there. then also create an announcement that explains that if they sign u...

Re: Unable to Upgrade from 3.1.9 to 3.2.2

that path looks like it may have something to do with the auto update method of updating. it may be something that gets created when you are using the autoupdate scripts. you should not be using that system of updating/upgrading at all so don't worry about it. is there a particular reason that you h...
