Re: Error 28 of death

your host is who you pay money to each month for your website/forum. you go to their website and log into your account and click on the support button and tell them about the error message. they are going to want to charge you more money for a bigger hosting package. maybe if you gave us a link to y...

Re: Error 28 of death

I think maybe you are confused about how this works. that message is from your host. phpbb.com is not your host. phpbb.com is the company that created the phpbb software that you have installed on your web hosting account. that message is telling you that you have run out of disk space in your hosti...

Re: changing domains for an existing install

all you have to do is change the dns for the sponsorshat.com to the same hosting company that you have for the sponsor.chat then, you can put in a 3.1 redirect from sponsor.chat to sponsorchat.com once that is all done and propogated you can change the cookie domain in your board back to sponsorchat...

Re: Permissions reverting, its this normal?

maybe you don't understand what it does. once you copy the permissions they remain set on the forum in question regardless of what the drop down says. the code used for that drop down is the same for any and all forums that you have/create. therefore, it makes the most sense for it to revert to the ...

Re: Mobile friendly?

by mobile friendly you mean responsive? Yes - it is. Even the default version is responsive. I'm not really sure what it's supposed to look like on a mobile device - take any mobile device (smartphone, iPad whatever) and just check it out, navigate the page, click on something. It's the easier way ...

Re: phpBB 3.2.2 - missing icons and only a part of smilies available

I have discovered that sometimes in windows when you are downloading a folder of files to your computer and the download is stopped before it is complete, the folder does not show up at all.

and hey, I lost all my hair a long time ago from trying to figure out all this crap.

if the folder upload did not complete then technically I guess it doesn't exist yet.

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

well, facebook is currently in the process of moving somewhere around a billion customers data out of the EU to US servers to get around this really really stupic EU law. so, I would suggest you do the same if possible. if enough people move their data centers/websites out of the EU maybe some press...

Re: Hypertext Link on the Subject Line

I don't believe you can. that text box does not allow html or even bbcode
just tested and neither one works.

if you explain what you are wanting this for maybe we can help you do it differently.

Re: Activating reCAPTCHA v2 in 3.2.x

that is what I would recommend. and only use one Q&A. if you use more than that then if the bots solve one of them you won't know which one it was. remember, if you can put your question into google and find even a close answer in the first 100 returns then the register bots can find it in less than...

Re: Changing Logo

yes, any extension that is in the DB here is safe to use . there are only a few "official" extensions that the staff here has created/tested etc. the rest of them have been sumbitted by others for testing by the staff. once they have been tested and validated then they are put in the DB for extensio...
