Re: Upgrade from phpBB v3.0.12

you really need to do it in steps. yes, the official idea is that you can upgrade straight to 3.2.2 but I have not seen it work without problems. I would go: 1. backup everything, files, database etc. 2. install your 3.0 board on your local wamp server using those backups. 3. https://www.phpbb.com/s...

Re: Error after updating from 3.0.14 to 3.2.2

go to your admin panel, look for the php info menu link. click on that and see what your actual php version is. It probably is not 5.6 but something lower. godaddy is good about showing you the wrong php version info. also, not sure why you think you can't update the php version. godaddy has a secti...

Re: A menu as a forum

ok, that is standard phpbb. you create a forum of the type forum. under that forum, you create all the subforums you want. make sure you click the box that says to display under parent. if you are wanting to move forums you already have created then you can do that from the admin panel as well. once...

Re: A menu as a forum

it looks like those are just subforums and if you create all those subforums they will be shown under the their main forum in phpbb anyway. if what you are talking about is not subforums, then please explain a little better just what you want. you can certainly create anything you want but we need t...

Re: Fatal error

would you tell your mechanic that he has to go to some other place to get the address of where your car is so that he can try and diagnose the problem?

this is your phpbb mechanic shop here, why would you not give the correct link to your phpbb board when asking for help?

just curious.

Re: 508 and 503 Errors after change in admin

you shouldn't have to deal with it. they should. we have no idea about how or why your host does things. I seriously doubt they only have one level of support. most hosting companies have the first level of people that answer phones/email/chat and just know how the read the basics from their support...

Re: Editing Quick-Links

well, we can't tell you what is wrong with your code edit if we can't see it.

do the edits again and copy and paste that section of the file here so we can see what is going on.

in the admin panel, click on the permissions tab. then in the left menu at the bottom where it says MASKS, click on the forum permissions at the bottom. then, on the next screen, choose a forum or forums from the box. then on the next screen choose use the "look up user" box and choose a user that i...

Re: Editing Quick-Links

where does this come from: <!-- IF STYLE_SETTINGS_CONFIG_NAVBAR_POSITION == 'Inside Header' --> navbar_in_header<!-- ENDIF --> that is not part of standard phpbb. anyway, show us exactly what code you are trying to use and where. did you purge the cache after you edited the navbar html page? robert

Re: PM Outbox/Sent Suggestion

also consider the number of phpbb users overall. millions and millions I assume. now, consider the number of people who have come here and posted about being confused by it...maybe less than 50? over all these years. somehow I don't think this is a really big problem for most people. as mentioned ab...

Re: PayPal Donate Button on Profile Field

this is not about placing the board owner's paypal, it is about each member being able to add their payapl just like they add their location etc. to their profile.

all of those are optional to the member.

Re: Locked out of ACP

and based on all of that, I once again suggest that unless you have some special need for all that security that you just ignore most, if not all, of cloudfare. hundreds of thousands of websites around the world are doing just fine without all of that.
just my unsolicited opinion.

Re: Easiest way to integrate phpBB in Wordpress website

install phpbb to its own directory. put a link to your support board in your wp menu. put a link back to the wp site in the phpbb menu.
if you want to bridge the users logins etc. then do a search for a wp/phpbb bridge. I think there are still a couple of them around that still work.

Re: PayPal Donate Button on Profile Field

Thanks Robert, now I totally understand ;) But When creating the profile filed, on the Profile type specific options, set the following to YES Parse BBCode: Yes I don't have that option? that is what the extension does. it gives you that option when creating a cpf using the text area type of cpf. r...
