Re: Costume Home page 3.2

you use the extension to create your custom page. then in the admin panel on the board settings page, you put the url to that page in as the home page. then, you should add this to your htaccess file: assuming you name your new custom home page home.php: DirectoryIndex home.php index.php index.htm i...

Re: Offline version?

very quick and simple. download the wamp or xampp software from the links provided. un zip it on your computer, run the install program that comes with it. you go to the included phpmyadmin and create a new blank database. then you import your backup database from the old board. if you have the old ...

Re: Forum Permissions not working

you dont have any forums created. you have one category and a category will not show up unless there are forums inside it. In forum management make a new forum. Type: category No parent. Then make another forum. Type:forum Parent: the category you just made. Then you need to set permissions so every...

Re: [Install] Can't pass DB settings page

there is no part of phpbb that needs or will work with asp.
also, if you have a choice do not run phpbb on a windows server, it works much better on the standard nix based servers like the majority of the internet runs on.

luck,

Re: It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image

allow_url_fopen must be turned on in your php ini file for the server. contact your host about it. this is a standard setting for almost all hosts. if they have it turned off because they thing they should be security reasons it means that they do not know how to properly set up their servers for sh...

download and install the pages extension found in the extension database for 3.2

Re: Problems updating from 3.1.10 to 3.2

that is what you are doing when you follow the upgrade instructions above. ok, currently you have 3.1.10 files and I assume your 3.1.10 database. follow these instructions exactly and in order: do NOT download the auto update package. Upgrading from phpbb 3.1.x/3.2.x or updating to newest phpbb 3.2....

Re: Seeking further adventures with phpBB

you dont need any of that. If you want to have an online presence just get a shared hosting account somewhere and download and install phpbb like normal. if you want to test on your computer, follow my link above to how to make a web server on your computer. you don't need to know a single thing abo...

Re: Impossible to update 3.2.0

if you follow his instructions exactly you should never see that page about deleting files.
oh wait, go into the folder named store and delete any file with install_config in the name and try again.

Re: Problems updating from 3.1.10 to 3.2

all of the information/data is in the database. you can't lose it when doing a proper update/upgrade as long as you follow instructions. the first instruction is always to make a database backup before you start. for your problem, if might help if you updated your php version to 5.6 or above and the...

Re: Seeking further adventures with phpBB

phpbb may not be the ideal thing for a personal blog, you could certainly use it for on. If you don't have hosting space yet, go ahead and download and install phpbb on your computer using something like Wamp or Xampp etc. Installing and Setting Up Your Own Web Server That way you can test and be cr...

that is not a menu for you to select from, therefore they are not links.

they are just to let you know what part of the process is happening.

when the process changes to the next step it will make that name bold in that list on the left.
