Creative Insanity wrote: Just a note though. If you want for IPB catagories to stay the same as your IPB forum make sure that you do the PHPBB catagories mod before you use the convertor.

Is that true?

If so, then where is the categories mod? I don't see it in the mods forum.

It sounds like you're double-clicking the install.php icon, either on your local PC or on your Web server. You should be opening install.php on your server by typing its address into a Web browser, like this: http://www.yourdomain.com/phpBB2/install/install.php (substitute your domain name and the c...

Can he view images on other Web sites? If not, then he has probably disabled the display of images in his browser.

What's the URL of your forum?

If I understand your question correctly, I think all a logged-in user has to do is click on the little orange document icon next to each thread's title to jump to its first unread post. :D

Guys, we REALLY should make a mod to fix it! Maybe comparing the 2.03 file that sends the email with the 2.04 file, we can find the solution. Which file controls the post notify? The problems with creating a mod is that anyone who mods their forums essentially gives up the right to ask for support....

Kanuck, Quite defensive aren't you? I don't know what your problem is, but it's obvious that you have some sort of problem with me. My signature has nothing to do with you (and I think you're being awfully egotistical to think that I ever even think about you, let alone dedicate my sig to you), your...

Read the changelog. ;) http://www.phpbb.com/documents.php?mode=changelog Instead of telling him to read the over-100--line v2.0.3-v2.0.4 changelog, why don't you just answer his question "yes" or "no"? I know I'd appreciate a straight answer to his question. I looked through the...

I'm one of those whose forums (described above) have no mods at all, yet you can see that I had many problems with v2.0.4 that I never had with any previous versions.

I've been using phpBB2 since RC-1, and I've been posting here for about 15 months, though I don't post anywhere near as often as most people do. I've updated to every version from RC-1 through v2.0.4 by using each version's "changed files" option. Through all of those updates, I never had ...

I understand and agree with what you guys are saying about the empty TO: field causing phpBB2 emails to be automatically filtered out as spam. My point was that, even though my ISP did not automatically filter out my forums' emails as spam, I almost manually deleted them myself, thinking they were s...

I agree with your concern about phpBB2 emails appearing to be spam. The first couple of times I received messages from my own forums, my first thought was that they were spam messages -- it was only after I realized that they were from my own forums that I figured out that they weren't spam.

I know this will complicate your problem-solving process, but I use IE 5.5 in Windows 98SE every day, and I have never had any IE crashes while browsing any phpBB2 forums, including my own phpBB2 forums, which have gzip turned on.
