Re: Merging two phpBB3.2 forums

That looks like the default .htaccess file for phpBB3. It does deny access to config.php files which is why I got the 403 Permission Denied error when trying to access it directly, but it shouldn't affect the script. Try moving the phpbb-merge-script folder out of the forum folder and see if it work...

Re: Merging two phpBB3.2 forums

Yeah, as far as I know. But if I put in this URL: http://happierabroad.com/forum/phpbb-merge-script/config.php I get: 403 Permission Denied You do not have permission for this request /forum/phpbb-merge-script/config.php When I should just be seeing a blank page. So it still seems like a permissions...

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

I don't think the problem would be with this extension as it uses the exact same checks used in the original phpbb files.

Or you could rename it to .txt and advise in the post to rename it back to .zip after downloading.
You're right, that worked. I figured phpBB would have done checking to verify the file was of the proper type. What's the point in restricting certain file extensions if this is possible?

Re: Merging two phpBB3.2 forums

I think just the keymap file should need changing. I just noticed an issue on my board where some user accounts aren't receiving password reset emails but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the merge. I'm looking into it now. Update: I found the cause of password reset problem and it wasn'...

Merging two phpBB3.2 forums

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

I posted an updated version, 1.0.0 Beta 11, with a fix. Unfortunately the fix just replaces 4-byte characters with a 3-byte character instead of encoding it into something else that can be stored in the database and then decoding it when extracting from the database, so 4-byte emoji characters won't...

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

That would remove them completely, or replace them with a specified replacement character, but the board converts them into a format like <r><EMOJI seq="1f914">🤔</EMOJI></r> before storing them into the database. Do you know what bit of code does that?

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

I can replicate and confirm. This seems to happen only with 4-byte UTF-8 characters as apparently utf8_bin cannot hold 4-byte characters. To hold these characters in the post_text column of the post table, there is some kind of conversion going on beforehand which chances them to something else, lik...

$request->raw_variable() or htmlspecialchars_decode($request->variable())?

Are we allowed to use $request->raw_variable() ? I saw this method in the code and it is a public method but didn't see anything about it in the documentation. If we can use it, is it better to use that or htmlspecialchars_decode($request->variable(), ENT_COMPAT) when getting a form field that you d...
