Advice: SQL optimization for enable_step() and disable_step()

I have someone who was receiving out of memory issues when installing or disabling one of my extensions and I believe it has something to do with the database code in the enable_step() and disable_step() functions in the ext.php file. I'm not an expert at database code so I was hoping someone could ...

Yes, but i recommend reviewing the script a bit, i had to change "memory_limit = -1" to enable or disable the extension.

Tnx.
What kind of database do you use, and how big are the tables phpbb_notifications and phpbb_notification_types?

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

So increasing the memory limit fixed that other SQL error?

Either one, they are both the same version.

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

That error is from an older version. Can you download the latest version?

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

After completely uninstalling the extension the notifications should go back to normal. You could check the phpbb_notification_types table, it will show which notification types are enabled. Let me know if you see any primehalo.primenotify.notification.type types. Any of those should have been remov...

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

As far as I know there aren't any issues. Do you receive the regular notification emails after uninstalling the extension?

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

Sorry, I didn't meant to sound stupid. I was just a little unclear about if it was a new function or a modification of an existing function. I don't want to restrict users to phpBB 3.2.9 but I can implement both methods, using utf8_encode_ucr if it exists and the current method if it doesn't. I don'...

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

I had searched all PHP files for utf8_encode_ucr and came up empty. Is this a new function in phpBB 3.2.9?

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

You tried to put it in my file and it didn't work? You put it in ext\primehalo\primenotify\notification\type\post.php? It should work there, I don't see why it wouldn't. public function get_email_template_variables() { $prime_notify = \primehalo\primenotify\core\prime_notify::Instance(); $template_v...

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

Don't put it in the core file!

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

I don't know where you put that but it wasn't in the ext\primehalo\primenotify\notification\type\post.php file. My guess is you put it in the core phpBB file.

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

I wouldn't modify the phpBB's core file but you could probably modify the version in my extension. Something like this: $template_vars['FORUM_NAME'] = $this->get_data('forum_name'); Put it in the get_email_template_Variables() function just prior to the return statement. Note that I have not tested ...

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

Maybe the first time it's using the newtopic_notify.txt template and after that it's using the topic_notify.txt template. I don't see the FORUM_NAME template variable in the topic_notify.txt template and I don't see that variable being set in phpbb/notification/type/post.php.

Re: [BETA] [3.2] Prime Notify

I don't know, I would have tried exactly what you tried. The template variables should be there since they're used within the body of the template so I have no idea why they're not working with the subject.
