Re: Looking for a way to "tag" a topic with a "new posts" icon

If you want users to manually tag topics, so they can find them later, there is already bookmarks and subscriptions, where you would get notifications for new posts.

There is already an icon at the beginning of topics with new posts.

Re: Importing from another site

Forumotion is not using our files for their forums.
Notice the support link at the bottom of your page does not come back here. It goes to a forumotion page.

Re: Duplicate topic counts as 1 post

Why would it?
If you have two unapproved posts and approve one, that leaves one yet to approve.

Re: forum edit

“It”, in this case, is your web browser. You need to either turn off your web browser’s form auto-fill function, or remember to delete your username and password from that form.

contrary to popular believe ( tv shows )
Actually, if you look at the IPs on those shows, you will see one node which is at least 300.
If the user is using such an IP, you can tell exactly where they are.

phpbb software changes the paragraphed text
PhpBB is not changing anything. Your web browser ignores white-space in HTML. Your indents are white-space, so they are ignored.

The posts in phpBB are saved in UTC. They are displayed using whatever timezone you have set in your profile.

Re: PM only offer groups to which member belongs

Simply set the Registered Users group user permission to send PMs to groups to "No".
For your executive group, set it to "Yes".

Re: 403 Forbidden error

Most sites with mod_security block a ridiculous list of words. I remember a few years back there was an animal lovers’ board where they were complaining about 403 errors every time they posted the word “cat”.

Re: PM only offer groups to which member belongs

That is correct. If you have permission to send PMs to groups, you can send them to any group which is marked that PMs can be sent to it. For the most part, you only want to allow PMs to groups that it is appropriate to send to as a group.

Re: 403 Forbidden error

Mod_security causes almost all of the 403 errors we see here.

Re: PM only offer groups to which member belongs

Make your group a “hidden” group, then only its members can see it.

On second thought, I don’t think that would work. I do not think you can send PMs to hidden groups.
Probably you just want to turn off the user permission which allows sending PMs to groups for your regular users.

Re: Testing user permission on banned user

When you test a user's permissions You are still You. Since you did not ban You, You are still able to access the board.
