go to Administration Panel -> General Admin -> Backup Database.

check Full Backup and hit Start Backup Button.

or you can use mysqldump in shell

mysqldump -u user -p database > databaseNameBackup.sql

you can do a search on that specific text on files in phpbb folder. Editplus for windows can do that for you. Or you can use grep -R keyword folder

well

phpbb can be run as many times as you wish on the same domain/account. that is and I restrain, if your host gives you many or unlimited databases. heck, with hosts this days, with unlimited mysql databases... you can run as many phpbb as you want. :)

Backup backup backup! if you run the upgrade from a new extracted phpbb and give it the same config file... it should be fine. so here are the steps. 1.) get the new phpbb x.x.11 of course! 2.) extract it somewhere else 3.) cp the original config.php file into the new extracted phpbb folder 4.) run ...

why dont you try apache? :) here is a tutorial

http://www.apachemysqlphp.com --- that will get you going on installing those three then you can run phpbb on your system. :)

well

you can change it using phpmyadmin if you have it installed. if you did not have anything in the database set... like forums, posts, etc... you can just do a freshy.

bad times

well i once lost my html file and I requested my host for backups. I got only sad news back. If you have a cpanel or some kind of panel control at your host then backups is up to you and you alone!

you can backup using the Admin Panel in your phpBB. or you can mysqldump in terminal(ssh) and dump your db then ftp or transfer it however you want.
