Re: noindex, nofollow in the header

well, what is your opinion based on? don't get me wrong, this really is a question! As I wrote before, I'm a novice, but I've been reading a lot about SEO. And it seems that more is not better. A few strong (i.e. of good quality and length) pages seem to work better than more not so good quality pag...

Re: noindex, nofollow in the header

thanks! never did understand why people want to do this. the whole point of the web is linking back and forth for information. my board is a part of a larger website, and I feel (though I'm a novice) that keeping the board out of google index will be beneficial for the website overall. That's from t...

Re: noindex, nofollow in the header

OK, so I get the ACP method. But if a stubborn folk would like to add <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW"> into the overall_header.html and simple_header.html files - would it do any harm to the operation of phpBB?

Re: noindex, nofollow in the header

I'm not sure how blocking bots is effected by phpBB, I tried to disallow them in ACP, but I could not see how it is effected in the html file. Does it give any specific instructions in html of the page? As far as I know, the best way is to disallow them in robots.txt and I also wanted to add this <M...

noindex, nofollow in the header

Hi All, I would like every page on my board to have this tag: <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW"> I'm using prosilver SE and I wanted to confirm with you that it is as simple as editing the overall_header.html and simple_header.html files and just adding this tag before </head> I've tes...

Re: Doubts before convert forum vbulletin 4.2.5 to phpbb3

I would opt for the style of prosilver that comes by default in phpbb3, I would adapt it as close to the current one as I have it, but I do not want third-party styles, because, when there is an update, minimize any possible problem / incompatibility, if only I had changed Some colors of the prosil...

Re: How to see answers given by users to my anti-spam Q&A

I did that, I know most of the users personally and I asked them about their "user experience" including the Q&A challenge. They didn't have any problems passing it. As I wrote before, I don't feel there is an issue with my Q&A, I simply wanted to know if the failed registration attempts are stored ...

Re: How to see answers given by users to my anti-spam Q&A

Everything can be googled :) As I understand it, I should aim for a question that, when entered into google, does not yield an answer in search results, right? My Q&A is like that in my opinion, google does not "understand" it. Am I mistaken? What are the first answers that a spambot would give to m...

Re: How to see answers given by users to my anti-spam Q&A

sure: https://ifrscommunity.com/forum/ but be warned that this is a forum for accountants and so is the anti-spam Q&A ;) I don't feel there is an issue with my Q&A (based on feedback from a few of my colleagues who already registered), I was simply curious whether failed registration attempts are st...

How to see answers given by users to my anti-spam Q&A

Hi, is there any way I can see what answers were given to my anti-spam Q&A? I'd like to see whether some answers seem to come from real users that I would like to accept, but they were rejected because I didn't foresee all the answers that a person can give to my Q&A.
thanks

thanks, your solution works! I've just set up an account on your board, but you won't have any problems with telling which one it is :)
