Re: What's the best way to donate to the phpbb team?

Money is a universal motivator. There are hundreds of open issues in the tracker and if users were able (and encouraged) to spend money to get them fixed, that number would go down much faster than just waiting for someone with the expertise, time and motivation to do so. This idea sounds interesti...

Re: Database back-up much larger when downloaded via Chrome

thank you very much for your explanations!

It seems that I need to get accustomed to downloading backup via FTP. I personally don't like this change as this will add another step in the back-up process, but I can see that this matter has been already discussed

Re: Database back-up much larger when downloaded via Chrome

Ok I'm using 3.2.3 (waiting for 3.3.1 ;)

so I actually am talking about downloading directly from ACP :)

edit: BTW, why the option to download directly from ACP is no longer available in newer versions?

Re: Database back-up much larger when downloaded via Chrome

But please note that I'm talking about back-ups made via ACP only (not phpMyAdmin nor cPanel etc). There are only two differences: the browser, and the action ("download" vs "store file locally")

Re: Database back-up much larger when downloaded via Chrome

What do you mean by "downloaded directly via browser"?
I mean that I downloaded the backup directly from ACP - I used the "download" option as opposed to "store file locally"

Database back-up much larger when downloaded via Chrome

Hi All. When I do a manual back-up of my database via ACP, the back-up file is much larger if this operation is done via Google Chrome and the back-up is downloaded directly via browser. I do a full back-up, gzip, all tables. For my board, the back-up file weights 2.8 MB when downloaded via Chrome, ...

it seems it has nothing to do with being a founder, I observed this issue here on phpBB community before starting this topic

Re: Integrating phpBB into WordPress?

Yes I think that's what I mean :) I suggest you think hard what you really mean and need, as keeping these two pieces of software integrated won't be a 'set it and forget it' type of thing. Plus you will depend on some plugins/mods etc which can be abandoned without notice. You may want to consider...

Does it make sense to receive two e-mails for each new topic?

Hi All, when you subscribe to a forum, you receive two e-mails for each new topic: first one arrives when a new topic is published (makes sense!), but then you receive another one when someone posts a reply to that new topic, even though you did not log in after the first notification. What do you t...

Re: Old forum isn't being surfaced by Google

most likely you see some warnings and issues in search console that were reported before your remake, browse through them and see whether you've resolved them (e.g. mobile responsiveness) and there is a button in the top right corner "validate fix" - click it and wait :) the other site that you ment...

Re: I want to approve every post of a specific user

right, this is the most efficient way, before posting this topic I was confused and searched for a relevant setting in 'group permissions' instead of 'group forum permissions'
now it's clear to me, thank you both for your help

I want to approve every post of a specific user

Hi All, I want to approve every post of a specific user before it is published, but I don't know how to do it (phpBB ver 3.2.3). I thought of setting up a custom user group and assign appropriate permissions, but I can't see any permission setting that would indicate putting posts into approval queu...
