Yes. To allow uploads of avatars, the /images/avatars/ folders must be "permissioned" by CHMOD 777 (read, write and execute).

I've thinking the avatars on gallery aren't showing. Sorry...

Try the most basic instalation of phpBB before, just to see if happens any issue (phpBB, no MODs, subSilver, english)

If is OK, then is something at the files, or templates, etc... If else, may be an installation error or the host doesn't support well PHP...

How many trouble here... Why don't try to re-upload an fresh version of phpBB? I've updated by editing the files and I'm not having any trouble. This must help too... Isn't so hard to edit the files... Well the problem with that is I for one have many mods (all of which were validated on this forum...

This can be an free hosting issue too... If you're hosting in a free hosting who doesn't support well the phpBB, this may occur...

  • Check if you put the avatars in a folder in the gallery directory.
  • Check if the files are OK linking directly to them. A bad upload may make the images crash.
  • Check if the configuration of your board are OK. Some MODs allow to change the avatars folders.

If you wanna install an program, you must ask to the host admin to do it for you. It's a bad manner to try it without ask anyway...

BBCode Admin MOD

I would sugest an MOD to put the bbCodes in the database and make it editable from the ACP. As seen on Olympus.

Go to advanced search
