BBCode system change

I'm busy modifying my forum so that it no longer requres BBCode tags to be adjusted for the bbcode_uid. Now that I've removed the requirement for the bbcode_uid, what code should be removed from the BBCode handler?

Odd, in that screenshot I can see it. Its the first link right under MySQL Server version. In that screenshot I can see the link. But that screenshot isn't mine. I have search for mysql runtime error on the internet. But I can't find it in myphpadmin 2.6.4-pl2 and in myphpadmin 2.6.0-pl3 What is th...

If you have phpMyAdmin installed, go to the phpMyAdmin home page and click on " Show MySQL runtime information." That will give you information on how busy your MySQL server is, and its load averages. As for the process list for insanely large forums, you'd have to ask Lanzer. What's the query for ...

How can I easily check how busy my mysql server is? And how long some queries take? And how does the processlist of huge phpbb forums look like? If you have phpMyAdmin installed, go to the phpMyAdmin home page and click on " Show MySQL runtime information." That will give you information on how bus...

Server farm? 8O Yes. They have about 120 servers total. Around 100 for web, there's also a few database servers, and a few storage servers. Dedicated storage servers are pretty much required when the database is (this is an educated guess) 400 GB (not too sure about that). But, you'd have to ask La...

It does sound interesting, although not really suitable for the site I run. It might be able to benefit from the metadata system I'm using which is quite easy to script for:

Sorry, forgot about this. Does anyone have any of the MODs that are encrypted somewhere that I could get them? I don't want to pay for them so I can check. PM me if you do. Thanks. Varus Online has purchased the "Shop Email Modification" modification. You will be notified as soon as Varus Online re...

http://www.zarath.com/mods/ Yikes! That is so wrong. Looks like there's a bit of relicensing going on there, and phpBB is strictly GPL. There seems to be a lot of code bloat in a few of the free modules, too (my shop system has less than half that amount of code). In my opinion, releasing a modific...

Ok, thank you for the link. It appears I simply add a second copyright line. But what about the change in moving the "Powered by" text from the phpBB line to the phpBB VOed line? Also, is it legal for Varus Online to get a copyright on its code modifications and make VOed a dual-copyrighted product?...

phpBB VOed and phpBB Copyright lines

While adding new features to Varus Online, I have come across a problem, some new features conflicting with older features causing glitches throughout the site. Things are mostly stable, but these glitches have prompted me to push the forum rewrite to top position in the development to-do list. Sinc...

If you are a newbie, and you wish to modify your phpBB installation, please make an extensive backup of your entire forum (basically, everything in the /forum/ folder on your webserver) and then apply the Profile Control Panel. It has the same tweaks for viewtopic.php and index.php that are posted i...

Disturbed One, I actually checked the code for Varus Online and found that many of Lanzer's performance tweaks are already in-place. You can try to look through this thread and get all of them and apply them yourself, or you can install the Profile Control Panel (which has a lot of performance tweak...

Your approach is quite different from that of Varus Online, which just uses phpBB sessions for everything (AviBuild, MyGear, etc...). If you have a separate session and want to integrate the two, you need to insert/update/delete from both sets of tables, phpBB and the custom set, and be sure the ses...

Holy crap that's confuzing! :@.@: :-D Then I'd need to come up with a function to renumber everything when I simply move or create a new forum. I think they included logic for those functions in the article, didn't they? Whoa, you're right. I must have missed that somehow. Oh well. More code to mod...
