Re: Update from 3.2.3 to 3.3 needed?

Thanks Heo32! Does make sense. I think what I will do is plan to update to 3.2.8 for stability with the theme and then wait to see what comes down the line for 3.3 from them. I don't want to get SO far out of date that we go from stable to madness

Re: Update from 3.2.3 to 3.3 needed?

Sorry, I guess I didn't mean managing 2 boards, but more the duplicating process and making them both work independently. I would not have them both be live. Seems like copying the database and all the stuff involved in making it work would be a pain, but I have never tried it either!

Re: Update from 3.2.3 to 3.3 needed?

I had not thought of that, seems like that would be somewhat of a pain to manage?

Re: Update from 3.2.3 to 3.3 needed?

Makes sense, I just always dread the downtime and issues that may or may not arise when doing a large update! I will make sure I have multiple backups on the host before I do anything as always. Thanks!

Re: Update from 3.2.3 to 3.3 needed?

Milk is currently listed as being available for 3.2.8 and 3.3.0-RC1 No doubt both of those will be changed to the latest builds shortly, then it is up to you which version you choose to be on as both will be supported. The other thing to bear in mind is that not all extensions are yet compatible wi...

Update from 3.2.3 to 3.3 needed?

I have a very stable and active phpBB community which is currently based on 3.2.3 and using the Milk theme which I've been incredibly happy with. Updating that theme seems to be a bit of a pain, and would be required to update to 3.3. Is there really anything worth while in the updates leading up to...

Re: Adding 'related to' links at top of topic

Thanks Lumpy!

Not really sure that will work out for my needs in this case, since it requires an additional topic for each set of links I would want to post.

Re: Adding 'related to' links at top of topic

I should have looked into the extension before asking those questions, my fault... It appears that the reply with the 'links' would remain at whatever post number it was, and it just ends up getting a little quote in the OP's original post at the beginning. I was REALLY hoping this would somehow mak...

Re: Adding 'related to' links at top of topic

https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=456&t=2368876 I think this will be close to what you're after, if I'm not mistaken? It allows you to check a reply as a "the correct" answer and it will be shown in the topic's first post. Now the actual links to your Shopify store will be hard to "ge...

Adding 'related to' links at top of topic

My Generac Generator Troubleshooting forum https://gentekpower.com/forums is coming along really nicely and I'm wondering if what I want to do is possible?? Basically if someone asks a question about a generator and gets an answer that they need a part or accessory, I'd like to be able to post a lin...

Re: Image orientation in plupload, using EXIF

I wanted to add some input about the same issues I was having and the fix that finally got them... Same rotation issues for me. Most were 90 deg counterclockwise. I tried the new bit of code with no success and then also the new version of plupload with what seemed no success... The trick was that I...

Re: Facebook Open Graph tag stripping parts of URL

I appreciate the help, and yes, sorry thread is a bad vBulletin habit... Haha! I wasn't sure if MOD was an old term for 'extension' which is used now. I didn't ignore your link, in fact I went through several pages of the comments and find that it does almost exactly what I have added to the overal_...

Re: Facebook Open Graph tag stripping parts of URL

You should not use a MOD if you're using phpBB 3.1.x or greater, and this forum currently only provides support for phpBB 3.2.x. As the error says, you should not use the superglobal variable $_SERVER , $request->server() should be used instead. And on a side note, I've made a extension (currently ...

Facebook Open Graph tag stripping parts of URL

I recently added some Open Graph tags to my Generac repair forum: https://gentekpower.com/forums to improve Facebook link sharing performance since I had a strange image showing for previews. When loading the index the preview performs normally, however when loading a topic, Facebook strips the URL ...

Re: .htaccess question for forum sub-directory

Your Apache always looks for the closest .htaccess file from the file it is accessing. So when someone tries to open hgentekpower.com/forums/index.php, it will first take a look at hgentekpower.com/forums/.htaccess. If it's there, it will process the request with it's parameters. Otherwise it looks...
