Re: How to block shortened URLs?

AFAIR there is a way to set it up so that it informs the poster that a disallowed tld was used and the poster is given the opportunity to edit the post. I didn't see that in the extension description. I'll talk to my admin partner about potentially testing it and see what he says. He's on the ftp/c...

Re: How to block shortened URLs?

The extension linked to only handles general link posting and blocks the entire post the link is in. Making banned urls a rule and banning transgressors will punish people who, in our case, aren't bad people but are learning what we do and don't allow and would therefore be a rather harsh and modera...

Re: How to block shortened URLs?

AFAIK there's no default system for that. Darn... The word censor thing allows posts to carry on with the banned TLD's replaced with warning text. I was just hoping to block shortened urls using some sort of wildcard system. There are so many url shorteners out there. . . I guess I'll have to do a ...

How to block shortened URLs?

Where do I go in the admin control panel to block shortened URL's? We don't want content shared from certain sites and I have that covered in the word censor area, but I don't want those same sites being shared via shortened url services such as tiny url or bit.ly or others I may not know about.

bump, anyone able to tell me which of the mods listed affects the upgrades? I don't want to have my board left behind as further updates to this file continue in the future, but I don't know which mod's thread to go bug at the moment. If both their authors could check this thread, that would be grea...

Sheesh Grayscale, you keep beating me to the good ideas! I'm currently having issues with the Residential mod, so I go looking for another idea, and here you are too. *deep thinking look* You reading my mind??? A monopoly-style house mod would be interesting, especially if you can not only buy, sell...

Maybe I should attempt the changes from scratch, as I just did this upgrade using easymod on another board and it went flawlessly. The rarely if ever edited part I discovered is due to ReferralPlus, and CrackerTracker. Those are the only additions I've made to the sessions file. EDIT: From the .20 u...

sessions.php not liking changes since .20 and .21 upgrades

I haven't been able to use the sessions.php updates for either .20 or .21 and I have decided I should ask for assistance to find out why. I've successfully updated to .21 otherwise. System runs on a linux remotely hosted account. The board is heavily modded, but to my knowledge, the sessions.php fil...

This is indeed a great mod! I finally installed it on my planetlogos ACP, and lol, this is funny, I have so many mods in that site, that even with this addition, the shortened sidebar still scrolls off the page!!!

lol, ah well, this mod makes the additional scrolling shorter anyway. :-D

This mod sounds awesome! One question: Would it be possible to have the form contents display in a topic where the output surrounding the form elements is pre-written? The idea for this was a book my daughter brought home called "MadLibs" where the child fills in items for a series of sent...

Ok, I removed a mod that sat in its own tables from the left side of the template, but that didn't do anything. I went to netmechanic to see if it found html errors, it found mostly warnings, the errors it claims it found didn't help the display any, nor let me get at the login.php page. EDIT: I not...

Ok, the security check came out ok. It claimed it couldn't tell if .20 was current however. No malicious code was found in the areas it checked. The home page doesn't have any user-editable spaces on it. I'm using the "forum as home page mod" for the home page, however this problem is site...

I wasn't "messing" with it. I was merely adding stuff in it as I've done for the past year. I stated that as the last action I was taking. I've checked my visitor stats and someone was on the site at 12:11am pacific time, which was when my site appeared to be bogging down and now it won't ...
