Well if I was to guess, which this is, I would say that one of those unvalidated extensions you installed (points, arcade) is the issue.

Not through modifying the database, no. All passwords are hashed. This is incorrect, the password can be changed in the database using an MD5 hash, the system will then salt the password on the next login. Actually, no it doesn't. Your cache folder probably isn't writable or something. I just installed it fine on a test forum that is using PHP 7.0.13.
