Re: "Table doesn't exist" after upgrading from 3.0.8 to 3.0.

In retrospect, I think I know what happened now: The account I use to connect to our back-end database from our web server does not have "CREATE" rights. When I did the original upgrade (to 3.0.8), I had changed the config.php file to use an account with those rights. When I upgraded from .8 -> .9, ...

Re: "Table doesn't exist" after upgrading from 3.0.8 to 3.0.

Not sure if this was the "right" way to do it ... but I set the version back to 3.0.8 in the config table and re-ran the database_update.php ... that did it.

All seems well now.

Thanks,

Re: "Table doesn't exist" after upgrading from 3.0.8 to 3.0.

I tried that already, but it doesn't seem to want to apply the update again since my board already "appears" as 3.0.9. Do you know of any way of "unapplying" an update, or at least manually setting my version back to 3.0.8 so I can run through the update process again?

Thanks,

- Shane

Re: "Table doesn't exist" after upgrading from 3.0.8 to 3.0.

Automatic update package: 3.0.8 -> 3.0.9

Followed through the instructions ... everything appeared to be ok.

My board currently reports 3.0.9 and all file comparisons check out.

Not sure what to do from here.

"Table doesn't exist" after upgrading from 3.0.8 to 3.0.9

I upgrade this evening and now can't log in. I get the following: General Error SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ] Table 'main.phpbb3_login_attempts' doesn't exist [1146] An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists. I have Googled and searched th...

And as Antonio alluded to earlier, try not to think of these files as "top" and "bottom", but rather "before" and "after". Every single web page, no matter what the layout, can be broken up into "before" and "after" pieces at any place in the page. The goal here is to put the page header and menu ba...

The following table will give you a two column layout, which is a basic "menu & content" layout: <table><tr> <td>menu</td> <td>content</td> </tr></table> So your overall_header.tpl would contain: <table><tr> <td>menu</td> <td> and your overall_footer.tpl would contain: </td> </tr><table> Hope that h...

Hi there Davood, I'd be glad to assist you with your site integration if you have some specific questions. I have a few questions for you that are fundamental in determining how easy it will be to integrate: 1) Do you have an existing user table/authentication system? 2) Do you want to use phpBB's a...

what I do know is that you can change the phpbb cookie name to anything you want in the admin panel, so if you need to give it the same name as what you are using elsewhere, that would be no problem. The name of the cookie is arbitrary. I just need to know what data to write to it. I suppose I coul...

Well, I read those articles. While informative, they did not rally tell me what I wanted to know. Perhaps I did not phrase my question correctly: Cookies: I know what they are and how to use them, and I know that the default cookie name for phpBB is phpbb2mysql. Can I write that cookie elsewhere on ...

Thank you. I'll have a look at those and let you know if I have any questions.

Obviously my preference is to keep using our existing table as the primary, since we have extensive functionality and site security built around it already ...

Thanks again,

Now, what exactly is your question, or what is it you want to achieve?? Thank you. Very nice to get so many immediate (and accurate) responses. I am working on adding a forum to the site listed in my sig, and am trying to figure out how to do "pass-through" authentication using our current (non-php...

It would be nice to get a message to that effect instead of a blank screen. It would cut down on a lot of stupid posts by stupid people like me ;-) "You have used terms in your search disallowed by this board. Please rephrase your search without including any of the terms below: etc. etc." Wishful t...

Custom login cookie data? (Was: why I can't search?)

I am trying to search this forum for 'user table integration' so that I don't post a duplicate question ... but all I get for results is a completely blank page. I then tried searching on 'blank page search', and got the same thing. I am able to search with fewer words, and sometimes search for 'all...
