The next problem I ran into is that I picked the latest XAMPP version, 7.3.5, when I installed. This allowed me to run my copy of the board, but when I tried to update it from 3.2.6 to 3.2.7 the installer said I had to use a version of PHP lower than 7.3. So I uninstalled XAMPP 7.3.5 and installed 7...

I kept trying things and eventually found a solution. I noticed my database was 35M and I was trying to follow the phpMyAdmin import method which states it only works for databases smaller than 2M. phpMyAdmin - Error Incorrect format parameter on database import into XAMPP

I am trying to set up a local webserver to allow testing of changes locally on my Windows 10 machine. I want to copy the source & database of the test system to the local system. Best practice for creating test installation

I'd like to create a test phpBB installation where I can test upgrades and new styles before applying them to our production board. I'm looking for suggestions on how this is usually done. My highest priority is that I don't want to do anything that could mess up my production board or its database....
