Re: Database errors after host migrated to new server

Well the hosting company migrated the database we needed and the board is up and running again. However, they still haven't reverted PHP to 7.2.x for me. The board seems to work in PHP 7.3.6, but I suspect it won't let me update the board to 7.2.9 with that version of PHP. So I asked them again to r...

Re: Database errors after host migrated to new server

The database name that they migrated to the new server exactly matches one we used to use for an older version of the board. So I'm pretty much sure that they only migrated one old version of the database rather than all database names, or at least the one we currently use. So I filed a ticket with ...

Re: Database errors after host migrated to new server

Thanks for all the replies. I have a full backup of the board source but I failed to log on and backup the database before the migration, which was stupid on my part. They said the migration should be simple and we shouldn't expect any downtime. I should not have believed them. One thing I just thou...

Re: Database errors after host migrated to new server

Also, I forgot to ask. If I ask our host to roll back our PHP version from 7.3.6, is there a recommended PHP version to tell them? I know it has to be >= PHP 5.4.7, < PHP 7.3, but wondering what version I should ask for.

Re: phpMyAdmin - Error Incorrect format parameter on database import into XAMPP

The next problem I ran into is that I picked the latest XAMPP version, 7.3.5, when I installed. This allowed me to run my copy of the board, but when I tried to update it from 3.2.6 to 3.2.7 the installer said I had to use a version of PHP lower than 7.3. So I uninstalled XAMPP 7.3.5 and installed 7...

Re: phpMyAdmin - Error Incorrect format parameter on database import into XAMPP

I kept trying things and eventually found a solution. I noticed my database was 35M and I was trying to follow the phpMyAdmin import method which states it only works for databases smaller than 2M. I found this post on a similar issue: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/51240993/importing-db-phpmya...

phpMyAdmin - Error Incorrect format parameter on database import into XAMPP

I am trying to set up a local webserver to allow testing of changes locally on my Windows 10 machine. I want to copy the source & database of the test system to the local system. I followed these instructions to install XAMPP and that part went fine as far as I can tell: https://www.phpbb.com/su...

Best practice for creating test installation

I'd like to create a test phpBB installation where I can test upgrades and new styles before applying them to our production board. I'm looking for suggestions on how this is usually done. My highest priority is that I don't want to do anything that could mess up my production board or its database....

Re: [RC] [SASS version] Black 3.2.1

Mr Gaby, I'm new to helping out with a phpBB, so I'm a little unclear on how the process works. I see you have a version of Black that works with phpBB 3.2.7 on github. I'm trying to find out if I should expect it to show up in the Styles database once testing is complete or if you only plan to offe...
