:( Well I guess it's time to give up on phpBB as I cannot get this to work. I've tried uninstalling every mod I have and installing only the antibot question mod and I still seem to have wrong answer to question issues. I've gone over the piece of code that was giving everyone else the grief but it ...

This is the code from my backup and I notice there are some differences from your code. Not sure why though. $strip_var_list = array('username' => 'username', 'email' => 'email', 'icq' => 'icq', 'aim' => 'aim', 'msn' => 'msn', 'yim' => 'yim', 'website' => 'website', 'location' => 'location', 'occupa...

I've installed this mod and when I go into register I recieve the following: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ',' in /home/username/public_html/phpBB2/includes/usercp_register.php on line 127 Now, I'm no php coder, but I first figured it must be a comma in the wrong place like it states. Yet wh...

phpBB2 is feature frozen. The only changes that would be made to it are security related. Spam whilst being a real nuisance is just that and not a security issue. :x Well I guess that says it all heh? They will not address the spam issues in phpBB. Personally I feel that you should deal with spam w...

:D Thanks everyone for your feedback. For the record I've installed and removed just about every mod I can find and nothing seems to work. I haven't seen the mod lefty refers to so I will try that. I realize these are mostly bots without any idea of whether they get where they are headed or not, I j...

the problem is that the registrant goes in the database, therefore , in the memberlist whether the email address is valid or not. Is there no way to change this as this is the problem as I see it. Before anyone is entered into the database admin should approve it thereby elminating the problem righ...

that is a whole different thing. removing or hiding the memberlist has no affect on how many spammers will register just to get on it. Robert, I'm not sure what you are saying. If there is no place for them to put in their information are they not neutralized? I seem to have stopped spamming in my ...

:? Wow, it took me over three hours to read through this thread. Now I have no time to do anything but post a question here and come back tomorrow to find the answer. Something I've noticed that no one has addressed is that all these spammers are using bogus email addresses. Is there no way to stop ...

 Thanks everyone, but I'm more concerned with these idiots continuing to fill up the memberlist and create work for me. I built this message board for a non profit society and it doesn't get worked much so I don't want to spend hours a day deleting members from the members list. Every morning ...

Thanks for your reply. I was wondering however if I could delete memberlist.php without affecting the message board. I don't want google or any other search engine still being able to access the memberlist which is what I beleive these guys are after. I don't care whether I have a memberlist on my b...

Removing the memberlist

:? Alright, I've had enough of these spammers using bots and was wondering if its possible to remove the memberslist completely from phpBB2 version 2.0.21? I have my settings to admin with visual confirmation and still they keep showing up in my memberslist somehow. I even have the Are you human? mo...

Thanks for all your help. I've made all the changes and changed the the copywrite details in overallfooter and simplefooter as per the instructions to 2006. So far I've not noticed anything amiss so knock wood. Now to see if my host still says it found vulnerable versions of phpbb2.

Thanks for the link, however it doesn't explain which changes I have to make for my style. Do I make the 2.0.20 changes, 2.0.19 or 2.0.18 changes or all? I have the 2.0.17 version of Avalanche style. Sorry for the ignorance, but I'm not even close to being an expert on this.

Upgrading a style

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes: I have updated to version 2.0.21 but like to use the Avalanche style. How do I upgrade my Avalanche style to show the current version? Do I have to make changes to any files? Does it make any difference in security by not using the subs...

Can anyone provide me with the solution to moving posts within the forum or is it not possible? Update: Okay I found the Default Post Sort Order mod that I thought would work, but when I installed it I got nothing in the admin that Allows admin to specify post sort order by forum. I've double checke...
