Modify permissions for all forums at once

When you click Forum Admin --> Permissions, you're asked to select a forum. Then, on the next page, you're shown what is basically one row of a table... Why not show all the rows? :D In other words, I'd like to just skip that first page and be able to modify ALL my forum permissions at once, to save...

Heh, that's ironic. My forum is giving 50 points automatically to each new member, and I want it to stop. ---- EDIT: I solved this by going into phpMyAdmin and looking at the phpbb_users table. Sure enough, the user_points field had a default value of 50. Not sure why changing it back to 0 fro...

Solved the flood control problem, simply by removing the chunk of flood control code (very easy to spot) from the private-message section of includes/functions_cash.php. It's not really necessary to stop people from giving money away too often, now is it? Still working on profile display... it...

Also, I can't get cash info to show up in profiles at all. Anyone else have that problem?

A couple errors I've discovered: 1) There's a conflict with donations and flood control. I'm guess the code deals first with the cash transaction, then with the PM, because if you get the "You cannot make another post so soon..." message while donating, your donation goes through anyway. This I can ...

Advice on a new "points" system

I'd like to set up a "points" system for my forum, where users earn points for various forum actions, and can then spend those points for nifty upgrades to their account. I know there are several mods based on this concept, but I'm unable to find much info about them before installing... Ideally I'd...

Searching in multiple forums

I'd like to be able to search multiple forums at once. (Not multiple installations of phpBB or anything like that, I'm just referring to the "forum" pull-down menu on the search page.) For my needs one forum is too narrow, and one "category" is too wide.

Any way to do this?

Using phpBB polls as a "rating" system

I'm looking for a way to have every post in a certain forum automatically have a poll with specific options added to it. The idea is to have users post content to be rated by other users. Seems like this would be a pretty simple operation, something like if (ForumName == 'X') { PollOption1 = '1 (Wor...

What are IMPortals? :) The forum isn't live or anything, but if you want to take a look you can find it at http://cobracards.com/forum . The frame setup I've been messing with is at http://cobracards.com/frames-test.html . I've added a link to my home page in case someone bypasses the frameset (dire...

Hrm, I'm not sure we're on the same page. :) Take a look at my existing website, http://cobracards.com . I need to have my phpBB forum appear in the main section of the page, with the black "Cobra Cards" header and sidebar still there. The header is a PHP file, and needs to stay dynamic because some...

That just makes it easier (a LOT easier!) for me to show static versions of my header and navbar. I'm guessing it has to do with that mod caching the template for extra speed.

Is there another mod that lets me use PHP in the template header?

If you can live without dynamic things in the sidebar probably the easiest way would be to simply edit the overall_header.tpl and overall_footer.tpl of your board's theme :-) Nope, can't live without 'em! :) I need to keep both my own site and the phpBB forum dynamic, if at all possible. I *think* ...

Showing my phpBB forum within an existing webpage

I'd like to integrate my new forum into the design of my existing website. Basically there's a header at the top and a navigation bar on the left, and the rest of the space is where the forum needs to go. I know just enough PHP to be dangerous, so my first thought was to just call the forum index li...

Separate ranks for each forum

I'd like to be able to have a separate rank system for each of my forums. Just for example, let's say I use my phpBB for a bunch of sports forums. In the forum about boxing, users are "Flyweights" at 1 post, "Lightweights" at 10 posts, etc. In the forum about baseball, users are "Rookies" at 1 post,...
