I won't say any more here until they've had a chance to complete their investigation and post a statement.
Has there been any more information forthcoming about since then?

Re: Is there a way to disable external images?

It almost sounds like you need an automated way to turn an img tag into a local reference. This might be a good "extension needed" request idea. On saving a post, scan for the img tag, if found, download the referenced image to the local store and change the img reference to local. Yes, you will lea...

Re: Catching The Mole

If you deactivate Y and force reactivation, then the first log after reactivation will probably be the real Y. The next login will probably be X Then traceroute/whois the IP address. Unless it's coming from a known anonymizing service it may be that he is either using his work or his hosting service...

Re: Topic title length and post character max

As long as the HTML limit for subject entry and the DB match. What I HATE is that you can type some nice long descriptive subject and then have it truncated in mid-word. That might only have been a phpBB2 problem. <input name="subject" id="subject" size="45" maxlength="64" tabindex="2" value="Re: To...

There is no problem with FTP in binary mode for your text files.
Apache and PHP are smart enough to strip off the extra control character (^M) added by DOS.

Re: [20/01/07] Admin Userlist

why not? when I ran a security check . The main problem reported was : memberlist.php present. My research on how to fix that led me to threads recommending to install userlist mod and destroy memberlist.php altogether. If I were to delete the file and remove links to it would that cause any harm t...

It seems like I downloaded the mod successfully.
Shouldn't I now "remove links to memberlist from overall header and delete the file memberlist.php"?

Umm, no.

Re: [20/01/07] Admin Userlist

I HIGHLY suggest you get "Better CAPTCHA" installed I just want to emphasize this suggestion more. I was helping to moderate (which means delete) spam user IDs and there were about 10 to 15 per day on a site I assist on. After getting that MOD installed the number dropped to ZERO. In fact we tested...

Re: [2.0.19] Forum Icon with ACP Control

I am in the process of porting my random icon change to this MOD to the phpBB3 code since some found it useful.

It is not yet in proper MODX format but is available as an ALPHA level code.

You can see it in action here on a board I sometimes assist with.

Re: Simple Subforums

I just have a simple question. I am no longer going to use easy mod. (is it necessary for this- from previous posts it doesnt appear to be) Can't imagine why.... anyhow, there is a file that is named .txt or .mod and has the name of the MOD you are trying to install. Get a copy of that handy on you...
