Re: Trouble getting my logo to appear in its entirety in the blue header bar

I was referring to not disabling Prosilver, and leaving it available as a user-selectable option. I think Lumpy got his wires crossed. ;)

Re: Trouble getting my logo to appear in its entirety in the blue header bar

TBH I specifically left vanilla Prosilver available, because: a/ if someone really wants it, I can't see any reason to deny them, and b/ if something is, or gets, screwed with the custom style, having an unmodified default can be a useful fallback. It's also easy to switch styles for testing, even w...

Re: attacked - ALREADY?

You can try this too: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... orum_spam/
I rum it in conjunction with the custom Q&A question. Don't know if it helps, but it doesn't seem to hurt.
Only 1 guy even knows my forum exists. Gumboots.
That's obviously not true now.

Re: How to reduce the use of the quoted text

Well, if you want to play games with your users you could always code it so that whenever anyone in a certain member group hits the quote button their post gets output to the forum as "I am a complete moron. They dropped me on my head in the maternity ward. Call me names. I love it."* I me...

Re: How to reduce the use of the quoted text

I know this topic is a bit old, but I just had a thought about this issue while viewing (and mentally grumbling about) a new post by a member who insists on quoting everything even when it's not necessary. The problem is basic human nature. If someone wants to reply to a post, the only way they can ...

Re: [RC] Earth phpBB 3.3.2 / 3.3.x

That's quite pleasant. I like the overall colour scheme and some of the detailing. I have to ask though: why are you using so many tables for layout in the header? That's an old technique dating from before CSS was widely supported, and is generally regarded as not a good thing these days. You could...

Re: I *really* need it to do this...

Is there a way to cause the links embedded in posts to open in new tabs? Any help appreciated :) There's always the old Right click > Open in new tab. That should be bulletproof in any browser on Windows. I use it a lot, but I don't know if it works on Linux, Apple or Android. Edit: You can also us...

Re: Change scrollbar colors

For god's sake, don't do that. They'll be demanding that you submit it as an extension.

Edit: Just threw it in Stylus for a live check. It works. Handy stuff.

Re: The look...

When you say "the board", do you mean the entire forum wrapper? If that's what you want it's easy. You just need to declare your background image on the body tag: body { background-image: url(path/to_your/image.jpg); } You can add extra code depending on what result you want. If you want s...

Can't see any content on your site, so can't check the results of the code there. I'll run it as a live test and check it out.

Re: Can we implement trusted updates in the styles database?

The idea certainly is certainly worth discussing, certainly the advantages, but let's not forget the possible drawbacks. definition of trusted style developer (TSD) : precise criteria? - can a TSD be demoted? ;) will there be a distinction between a RC, a validated style version, and an updated sty...

Re: Can we implement trusted updates in the styles database?

I agree that it does seem to make a lot of sense. We are only talking updates, which in the vast majority of cases will only be incorporating fairly trivial changes anyway. Most styles do not have that many templates, and the default template changes between versions are usually not that complex.* I...
