My impression was that a phpBB update was a matter of swapping some text with some other text. More to it? Well if you have a plain, un-modified, version of phpBB, updating it is very simple. There is a "changed files" version of each update. 1. You simply copy the new files over the old ones. 2. T...

How to change the database prefix on existing install

Hello. I'm running the latest (.15) version of phpbb on a few sites. All my boards are running normally. All of them right now are using the default phpbb_ prefix in the mySQL database. I want to change all of them to use different prefixes. I was thinking I would have to download a SQL backup and m...

One of the boards I run is also behind an authenticating proxy. So yeah, you can't use the phone-home feature to check your board version. However, I've found the phpbb mailing list to be good enough. I'm not saying that you shouldn't upgrade, but if your board is not on the public internet, then wa...

Suggesting new best practice for phpBB admins

So I got a new domain a few months ago. It's a very unusual domain name and I am very sure that the domain has never been used before, by anyone. (It's a combination of my future wife's first name and my own. She has a very unusual name.) I set up a very basic web site with just a few static HTML pa...

Yes but the version number is not required for support, just a copyright notice. If I understand correctly, that is.

Aha!

That's what I was looking for. I knew Acyd Burn had those and when I checked his site, I only saw the ones from 2.0.8 and up.

Thanks!

You should not bump your threads every ten minutes like this.

I would check in the admin panel that you had updated the domain name and script path settings.

How to update styles from 2.0.5 to 2.0.11?

I downloaded some older templates from the phpBB site. My board is already running the very latest phpBB (2.0.11) and the very latest PHP (4.3.10) I'd like to make sure that these old templates (which are not maintained by the original makers) are 2.0.11 compatible. I downloaded the changed files ve...

That is not correct. See the GNU GPL FAQ here

Re: Document contains no data

I've had this phpBB board with the current attachment mod running successfully for several months. All of a sudden, when trying to upload documents, I get a "Document contains no data" error. I do a "New Post", put in a title and some post text, and then click "Add an attachment". I browse to a fil...

Very fast question - DB changes since 2.0.6

I read the changelog and if I understand it correctly, besides the obvious of updating the version number in phpbb_config, are there any database layout changes from 2.0.6 to 2.0.10? I just wanted to confirm my understanding here. (Reason I'm asking: I have an old 2.0.6 board. I did a brand new inst...

The answer to the original question would have been found by searching for "Odyssey" and looking in the original release thread. Take a look at the link below. The "white text boxes" issue has a fix decribed in the thread.
